I admit I'm not very productive.

Today I was surfing the net when suddenly I thought that I should watch 娱乐百分百. Guess what, Jay came to the show. It was totally unexpected. Fortunately, nobody was at home, or else they'd have seen me sitting in front of the TV, grinning like an idiot. >< They talked about his new album and his concert. Really, the title of the new album [我很忙] reflects Jay's life right now. He's just so busy! After the promotion period of 不能說的.秘密 ended, he had to prepare his new album, and at the same time his world tour. It's no wonder that during the interview, he didn't even know the dates of his autograph session and other events, and had to look at the staff. He looked tired, to say the least. Like his mind wasn't even there. Rest a while, Jay! (but honestly I don't know how he's gonna find time to rest, cos 10th Nov is his concert date in Taiwan)

During the show, they were talking about how 小猪 and 小鬼 argued about the ending of 不能說的.秘密. It's funny that they started to blabber excitedly, that in the end Jay called the two of them “导演”. Also, because of the last time Jay lost a bet with 小猪, he had to buy 100 of the latter's new album. But he didn't know that 小猪's album hasn't been released yet, so he bought 100 of the wrong ones (I think it was the single version of the new album). LOL. But anyway, I really hope that 小猪 and Jay are okay. I mean, they didn't look like they had any problem between them, but it was said that both of them 翻脸-ed because of Jolin. It'd be such a pity if they aren't friends anymore as they used to be such good buddies. =/

I've always thought that the good thing about the lyrics written by Jay is that even they're simple and don't involve 'flowery' words like 方文山's, they convey the emotions effectively and most importantly, they are easy to remember. Like after listening to 彩虹 so many times, I can remember the lyrics by heart. Oh and anyway, Jay's new album will be out on Friday! =)

edit:
I just saw this in the Sistic website:
"In recognition of the unprecedented ticket sales of the Jay Chou 2008 World Tour on 19 Jan 2008 and to avoid disappointment among fans who have yet to make their ticket purchase, Hype Records and JVR Music has decided to bring in an additional show on 18 Jan 2008. "

Seriously, my face almost split when I read that. The petition by the fans worked. Booking using OCBC credit card starts tomorrow, and Michelle's uncle got one. Yay! =))

Tuesday 30 October 2007

he's that stubborn, alright.

The BoyBand TVXQ's leader U-Know Yoonho injured by practicing for the October 26's concert.

Because of the accident, it seems like he won't be able to perform on the concerts.

U-Know Yunho who was supposed to be performing on the "DongBangShinKi The 2nd Asia Tour Concer "O" ~ Seoul Encore" was practicing on the reheasal on 25th's night and then he got hurt on the pelvic region.

The person that is in charge of Yunho said "Yunho got hurt on his vertebrae lumbar. It may take probably 3 to 4 weeks to its recuperation. It doesn't matter if he works, or he moves, but if he doesn't dance or do exercise it will be better".

SM said, "Now that we know how is the situation, we think that it will be hard for Yunho to perform. Even if he can not perform, he will be on the stage and he will sing the ballads."

Then finally Yunho said "For all the people that waited for the Encore Concert I'm so sorry to you all. Even if I can't give you the best of me because of this inconvenience, I will show you my best on the stage."

Well. I don't really know what's the meaning of the cheem words, but apparantly while rehearsing he knocked on something and as a result he got injured somewhere in his spine. Actually SM didn't want him to perform at first, but he insisted. He just took a shot of painkillers and performed in the concert 3 days straight. Of course, he didn't dance; he just danced the slower numbers. Junsu replaced him as the lead dancer in most dance numbers. But still, during the concert, a few times he wanted to dance and had to be stopped by the members. Like, what the hell are you thinking?! I must give him credit for his professionalism, but all the fans would actually prefer he stay at home and rest. He apologised during the concert for not being able to dance. He's the one injured and in pain, for goodness' sake. Why does he need to apologise? But! if he isn't that kind of person, he wouldn't be Yunho. So, well, I just wish him speedy recovery. =)

October doesn't seem to be their month. October last year, there was the cyanoacrylate drink incident, where an anti-fan tried to poison Yunho. This year, he's injured. Then during the concert itself, Jaejoong fell into a hole in the middle of the walkway. I don't know how the heck there could be a hole there. o.0

The worries aside, there were some squeal-worthy moments. The first time Yunho tried to dance, he was stopped by Junsu (here). He saw Yunho, pushed past Jaejoong and hugged Yunho to make him stop. Really, it was sweet of Junsu. =D

The second time, Jaejoong was there.

^yes, that blur of a person is Jaejoong. xD

hahaha. Yunho's expression is funny. Maybe they should have tied him up to prevent him from moving. xP

About Jay's concert, now 5 out of 10 categories are sold out, the rest only have single seats left.

In the Sistic website, there's actually this:
"Thank you for your overwhelming support to the Jay Chou 2008 World Tour (Singapore). In order not to disappoint the fans, promoter Hype Records is currently in discussion to bring on an additional show for the Singapore fans. Deeply appreciate your patience. Please stay tune for further updates. "

HAHAHA. I knew that there would be a lot of fans bugging Sistic for an additional show. I only emailed them to ask about it lol. But seriously, if there isn't gonna be another show (choy! infinite times), I don't know what I'm gonna do. =X Pray hard!

James Morrison - The Pieces Don't Fit Anymore

I've been twisting and turning in a space that's too small
I've been drawing the line and watching it fall
You've been closing me in , closing the space in my heart
Watching us fading and watching it all fall apart

[Chorus]
Well I can't explain why it's not enough
Cause I gave it all to you
And if you leave me now
Oh just leave me now
It's the better thing to do
It's time to surrender
It's been too long pretending
There's no use in trying
When the pieces don't fit anymore

You pulled me under so I had to give in
Such a beautiful mess that's breaking my skin
Well I'll hide all the bruises; I'll hide all the damage that's done
But I show how I'm feeling until all the feeling has gone

[Chorus]

Oh, don't misunderstand how I feel
Cause I've tried, yes I've tried
Still I don't know why
No I don't know why

[Chorus]

The pieces don't fit anymore

I think it's a really good song; the lyrics alone is touching enough but his voice is so raw that the song sounds much more real and personal. The chorus makes a lot of sense, but somehow I can't help thinking about the line "I show how I'm feeling until all the feeling has gone". Talk about deep. =P

[Chorus]
你要離開 我知道很簡單
你說依賴 是我們的阻礙
就算放開 但能不能別沒收我的愛
當作我最後才明白

Repeat ##

[Chorus]

[Rap]

[Chorus]

The 2nd single of Jay's new album. It's got the same melody as "First Kiss" in the Secret OST. Actually I wasn't planning on listening to this song until the album is out, but unexpectedly it was playing when I turned on 933 yesterday. So I went to download the MV. The song is very simple but somehow it gives me goosebumps, especially the first part of the song where it's just his voice and the guitar. I even teared a little. It's playing on repeat now. Nice. =)

^ a scene from the MV. Nice scenery, eh? I wanna post a link to the MV, but no one has uploaded it yet. I'll edit later or something. ^^

edit: click for MV.
One of the comments cracked me up:
他又來這種唱法 聽到我想死 但是又很喜歡
唱到那麽慘聼完都想哭

LOL. xD

As for now, 4 out of 10 categories of Jay's concert seats are sold out. The rest only have single seats left. argh. I'm really keeping my fingers crossed for a second day.

Thursday 25 October 2007

ARGH.

I'm freaking fuming right now. Why?

周杰倫2008世界巡迴演唱會 Jay Chou World Tour 2008, Singapore Indoor Stadium,19 January 2008 8:00 PM

Internet Booking starts on
22 Oct 2007, 9am.
Other Sales Channel sales starts
on 22 Oct 2007, 10am.
Public sales start 5 Nov 2007 onwards.

Right. That's what is written there. I don't have a freaking credit card and now, on 25th October, just 3 days after the internet booking starts, 2 categories are sold out and the other categories except for Cat 5, 8 and 9 only have single seats left. The best seat in the most expensive category is in row 30. Seriously, this is madness. Does that mean that people who have to wait until public sales start don't get to watch the concert?

Man, the whole objective of me starting to save money back then was to buy the most expensive ticket of Jay's concert. I know it sounds stupid but it'll be even more stupid if I can't watch the concert at all. I want a second night!

Jay Chou’s first S’pore concert in 3 years: Fans upset over hard time booking tickets

Taiwanese R&B whix Jay Shou has every reason to smile. His upcoming concert has become Singapore’s fastest-selling show ever.

And there is now talk of a second show.

Priority tickets for the Jay Chou World Tour 2008, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on 19 Jan, went on sale on Monday for OCBC credit cardholders. Public sales start next Monday.

Within a day, 80 per cent of the 8,700 tickets were snapped up, said concert promoter Hype Records.

This translate to 6,900 tickets priced between $78 and $198.

Sistic chief operating officer Kenneth Tan told The New Paper that the concert “broke all previous records” at the ticketing agent.

The number of transactions on the first day was an “unprecedented high” and “almost 100 per cent more than the previous record holder”.

Tempers flare

He declined to reveal the previous record holder, citing confidentiality.
But it is believed to be a musical stage here earlier this year.

On the flip side, the surge in demand caused tempers to flare as many fans got frustrated in a mad rush to get the best seats.

The sense of urgency is understandable, as it has been three years since Jay’s previous concert world tour. He last performed here in November 2004.

The 28-year-old singer-songwriter is slated to release his new album Jay Chou On The Run on 2 Nov, and record shops have started taking orders for it.

According to some fans, the Sistic server “crashed” and “kept hanging” from the moment online tickets sales started at 9am, and the hotline that started at 10am was constantly engaged.

Ms Chen Weiling, 28, said she spent the whole morning trying to get through to Sistic and even got her colleagues in the office to help, but to no avail.

Increased Fee

“It looks like the system cannot support such a high volume,” she said.
“The Sistic fee has already increased 100 per cent from $1 to $2, but did Sistic invest in a better system or get more IT support to cope with the big volume?”

In the end, the finance analyst had to make a trip to the Sistic counter at Tiong Bahru Plaza during her lunch break. And she queued for more than an hour to get her tickets.

“There were only seven people in front of me but I still had to wait so long,” she said.

“It’s frustrating because you’re losing time while other people are booking their tickets, and when your turn comes, all the good seats are taken up.”

Ms Chen ended up with a $138 ticket, though she had intended to buy the most expensive $198 ticket.

Merchandiser Gladys Kuek, 27, also got a $138 ticket instead of the $198 one she wanted.

She said, “It’s disappointing because we waited so many years to see Jay’s concert but we can’t even get good seats.”

When asked, Sistic’s Mr Tan insisted that “technically speaking, our system did not crash”.

But the system allows a 15-minute grace time for every seat to be accepted by a potential customer, so others in the queue would have to wait, he added.

Hype record’s artiste and repertoire director Jonathan Tan said his company was “flooded with phone calls” from irate fans who could not get through to Sistic.

His company has contacted Jay’s management to “explore the possibility of a second show”.

He said 18 Jan is a possible date, as the Singapore Indoor stadium is still available for booking.

“It has been three years since fans caught Jay Chou’s fantastic performance in Singapore and we’re trying our best not to disappoint them,” he said.

“We hope they will be patient with us and hopefully, we’ll have good news for them.”

Read the whole article; it's not that long. I am happy for Jay. I mean, having 80% of the tickets sold within a day is a big accomplishment. But I still demand a second show. =X

Wednesday 10 October 2007

tsk.

Good news first. Firstly, Jay is coming here to have his concert in January next year. Secondly, his new album is coming out (supposedly) on the 2nd November, and pre-order starts in two days!

Seen the picture? As much as I think he looks cool there, I couldn't help but thinking that the direction of the album is gonna be so different from his previous ones. As in, the style of clothing and the music as well. It may be because he is in his own company now.

Well, the first single for his new album, 牛仔很忙, aired for the first time in Taiwan today. I downloaded the radio rip off the forum, and honestly, I wasn't impressed. My first impression was that it's definitely different from his past works. Heck, it's different from any music I'm used to listening to. I mean, it's good to show people that he can change the his music style, but I'm not sure if it's a different in a good way.The song sounds funny, almost like a song for kids. The whole song is just so un-Jay for me, starting from the whole style and arrangement of the song (it's so cowboy-ish ><), to the way his voice sounds, especially in the beginning of the verses. For a good five seconds I thought that it was a girl singing. Okay, I admit that the song sounds happy and cute and the lyrics are funny, but then again I was never a big fan of too-happy-sounding songs (even Mai Ya Tang was slightly too happy for my liking). Can you believe that the first time I listened to the song, the highlight for me was actually Jay introducing the song? I'll listen to the song many more times to see whether I'll like it. I mean, Jay's songs usually take quite some time getting used to, even if they don't sound as unique as this song. Like I didn't 夜曲 the first time it aired, but now I like it a lot. Well, I just hope that the rest of the album doesn't sound so.. different. *cross fingers*
