Kim Jong Kook - 잘해주지마요 (Don't Be Good To Me)

Kim Jong Kook's thin voice totally doesn't match his bulky body, but he sings well. The way he sings this song gives me goosebumps, in a good way :).

Without your mask, where will you hide?

Liar Game

(Dramawiki, because you know I'm too lazy to write a summary LOL.)

I've been following the manga, so I thought I should watch the drama as well ^^. I think it's a good thing this manga was turned into a drama; here the tricks are explained slowly and with illustrations, not in chunks of words that are hard to digest xP. But since they made the tricks sound simpler, the scriptwriters decided to make the plot a lot more complicated than the original one LOL. Still, it's good how they managed to include a wee bit of humour here and there in the midst of such a deadly serious story haha.

When I first saw the cast for this drama way before, I thought that Matsuda Shota wasn't good-looking and smart-looking enough to play Akiyama, and Erika Toda didn't look innocent/gullible enough to play Nao. But I was proven wrong; they are both suitable for their roles :). It's incredible how even though actors may look the same in various dramas -- same hairstyle or same type of make-up, acting skills surpass everything else. Actors are awesome, ne ^^.

Nao is such a naive, kind baka, lol ^^;;. Erika Toda is pretty :). Her eyes are so big relative to her small face lol. That wide-eyed look is crucial to Nao's looks, since she had to look gullible, innocent and rather dumb, yet kinda cute so that she'd still be likeable.

I've always liked Akiyama; he's SO SMART. He's cool-headed and has good brains, and most importantly, even though he's no angel, he's a good guy. Seriously, Akiyama rocks. Matsuda Shota has the look of a bad guy; maybe that's why he can pull off the look of a smart swindler. I think it's the sharp gaze and the smirk haha x). I prefer his short hair in Love Shuffle, but he looks good with the long hair too.

That being said, the two main leads are probably the best thing about the drama. The drama can be said to have four parts: Round 1, Round 2, Revival Round, and Round 3. While Round 1 was boring, Round 2 and Revival Round were really interesting, and in those episodes I could really see the connection between Akiyama and Nao. However, after that the plot sorta lost steam, and Round 3 felt all over the place; it felt like the twists were there in the half-hearted attempt to make the drama stay like a mystery drama. And the Akiyama/Nao connection seemed lost too :(. The ending was rushed, even with the 2.5 hour SP. And by then, the maniac laughter by the villains felt tiresome; the reaction shots of everyone on the scene -- which usually ended with that of Nao or Akiyama -- felt overused. Also, complaints to the director: I don't like the dark lighting used so frequently here, especially the red one. I know they are used to add a touch of mystery, but they aren't exactly appropriately used, and they are irritating >:[. The dealer's laughter is totally unnecessary since this is not a horror drama, and its mask reminds me of the doll in Saw D:.

Liar Game has a Season 1, one SP, Season 2, and will end in a movie that's scheduled to be out this year. I'm going to watch them all, since I've already watched the first two. One day I'm gonna watch Bloody Monday too, by the way, since I've read the manga. And Code Blue Season 2 is currently airing; can you feel my excitement :DD? But next is Tokyo Dogs first xDD.

Being able to lie is a talent.

S.E.N.S. - Forbidden Love

GOSH THIS SONG IS SO FREAKIN' GORGEOUS. It sounds so sad, yet so beautiful. Apparently it's from the group's 28th album, Future. I'm SO gonna buy that album, mark my words. I first heard it when I was training for receptionist last week, and when I did I immediately went to find out the title of the song. I think the best thing about being on afternoon shift for receptionist is that you get to pick the CDs for the next day. And I think every time I get the chance to, I'll pick this album LOL. But I think if I were in a bookstore that has this song playing over the speakers, I'd totally zone out while listening to the song, and not be able to read at all haha ^^;;.

S Club 7 - Never Had a Dream Come True

tough day.

I'm like, half dead now. There were so many difficult customers today, that I was quite grateful that I was already feeling sleepy due to lack of sleep, because otherwise I might have worn a totally displeased expression when facing them. And it's only the first day of my 4-days-straight roster. Sheesh.

It's not supposed to feel this way

Avril Lavigne - Why

How come I have never heard of this song before o__o. Anyway! I love this song ♥♥♥. Avril Lavigne's voice sounds especially good here. The arrangement of this song is very simple -- just guitar strumming, and it totally works.

Love Shuffle

(Dramawiki)

This drama is unexpectedly funny and touching at the same time. Honestly, if I were in these people's positions, I would agree to do the love shuffle thing.

Kei seems like a guy without a back bone, but he's alright. In fact, he's kinda cool. And there's something about Tamaki Hiroshi that is really attractive, even though I can't figure out what it is ^^;;. I think it's the smile lines and the way his eyes seem to sparkle when he smiles.

Ojiro is a cool guy. Totally a player, though -.-. I can actually believe that he is able to see through people through his camera, which speaks something about Matsuda Shota's acting. Now I have finally seen Shota's charm that makes girls go gaga over him. I think it's the hairstyle. I will watch Liar Game in the future HAHA xDD.

Yukichi is so adorable :3. Daigo is good-looking, and those spectacles really suit him! He does not look 31 at all o____O. And like I said, he's the lead singer of Breakerz. (I like Breakerz' music, by the way :D! And apparently Daigo writes and composes some of the songs too ^^.)

I like Airu! She's such a cool girl :). (I need to find other words to replace "cool" lol ^^;;.) She's easygoing, smart and straightforward.

Kairi is kinda freaky, but she's very cute. I love her and Ojiro together! That's my favourite couple haha xDD. Yoshitaka Yuriko is so pretty :)). She looks reaaaaally familiar, but it doesn't seem like I've watched any of the shows she's acted in before :/. (She's in Tokyo Dogs though, which I'm gonna be watching soon ^^.)

The guy who acted as Kikuta is Aki's ex-boyfriend in Pride xDD. Now that I see him in this drama, I realised that he looks a weeeee bit like Mukai Osamu. Mei is pretty like a doll, but I don't like her :S. Tara-chans are cute!

Yay panda xDD!

Breakerz - 光

I like this song a lot :). The best part of the song has got to be the guitar solos; they are awesome :DD.

I'm currently interested in this band! The lead singer, Daigo, acted in Love Shuffle, which I'm currently watching. He's cute in the drama xD. But most importantly, he's got a good voice. At first when I heard that this band is a JRock band I thought, "Ermmmm", 'cos I don't have a good impression of JRock singers; the only ones I've seen are those scary-looking ones in Japanese magazine covers. But this band looks normal, thankfully x). I'm gonna try listening to more of their songs. I have a feeling I'll like their music ^^.

Monday 18 January 2010

that's why nice people totally rock :D.

After what seemingly an endless period of time being a receptionist (because I was on training), I was back cashiering today! Had to do one jacketing, which I usually dread 'cos I'm very slow and clumsy, but the customer was very nice! I asked him whether he would like to walk around first and come back later, and he agreed and laughed a little, saying otherwise it (him staying there staring at and waiting for me to finish) would stress me out. Unlike some other customers who would stay around the area and come back in what felt like seconds, he disappeared and returned when I was about to finish. And he was so friendly! It's a very minor thing actually, but that really made my day :).

That's why cashiering is so much better than being a receptionist; you get to meet people. And most of the customers are nice and friendly :D. Somehow people who call in aren't as nice, from my experience x__x.

I have a craving for mocha extreme >.<. I drank my first can of coffee today, after 2 months. Was just too sleepy; I couldn't help it.

Sunday 17 January 2010

Seriously, Yoo Seung Ho is gonna break many hearts in the future. It's not legal to look like that when he's only sixteen o___o.

Leona Lewis - Better In Time

It'll all get better in time :).

Friday 8 January 2010

Slowly but surely, I'll get there.

A Sleeping Forest

(Dramawiki)

This is a mystery drama, from 1998. Its first scene was really interesting. The only thing that can be expected from this drama is the unexpected, and there's a cliffhanger at the end of every episode. The use of sounds like classical music, or the lack of them, to add tension to the scenes was effective. Certain parts remind me of A Million Stars Falling from The Sky, but this drama is not as scary. But everyone looks he might be a bad guy, lol. That's why I think it's true, that there are both good and evil in everyone. Don't judge a book by its cover! You've been warned, haha.

Naoki is such a creeper :S. All stalkers are scary, but he seems like such an easy-going person, so he's not that scary. And he'd really do anything for Minako.

Takuya Kimura was already a good actor, even then :)). (He's even better now though xD.) I've really grown to like him with long hair! I guess very good-looking people like him look good with any style LOL ^^;;. And he wore wifebeaters so often in this drama, that I couldn't help but stare at his arms. Not my fault, okay xDD. I don't mind spending hours staring at his face, but I swear I can actually stare at his eyes for god-knows-how-long HAHA.

I think if I were Minako, I'd have gone crazy. Imagine finding out that your memories aren't real. It's really scary, haha. Nakayama Miho is very pretty :). But I think she looks like Matsu Takako, don't you think? Maybe it's the face structure. And she's of the same "type" as Aki from Pride, haha.

Kiichiro seemed like a good guy. He was thoughtful, kind and secure; very suitable as a husband. But everything he said sounded like it came straight out of "The Book of Gentleman", if there ever was one.

This drama is very sad ;__;.

I feel like I've just eaten a lot of candy floss, haha x).

Arco - Alien

Every hour, every day
isn't nature denied?
In a world where it rains
you're the sun in the sky

But I can't bear to see you
'cos I can't bear the pain
And I can't heal the wounds
'cos I still can't explain

Why I feel like an alien
not part of the human race
When my heart wants to burst
at the sight of your face
I feel like I'm suffering
from a beautiful disease
when your sad pretty smile
brings me down to my knees

Such a simple thing
It should be such a simple thing

You can call me confused
All that I can confess
is I can't come to terms
settle for something less
Will I feel this emotion
till the day that I die?
And go to my grave
still wondering why

I feel like an alien

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm rewatching Coffee Prince, just because I felt like it. Only the interesting parts, though, since those are the important ones. It's a really good drama; wonderful acting by the cast, especially Goong Yoo. But well, now I know why this drama is so hard to watch, haha ^^;;. Oh and by the way, my favourite character in this show is No Sun Ki! He's mature, smart, cool and straightforward, and he's very loyal to the one he loves.

Friday 1 January 2010

happy new year :D!

2009 was.. an interesting year. It was a year of mixed emotions; I was happy but sad, in pain but thankful, regretful but content. I experienced many firsts; I shopped for clothes online, went for a movie marathon, drank at a pub, ......... . It was a good year; a year that allowed me to grow as a person. Thank you, to everyone who have made my year, in one way or another.

Goodbye, 2009.

Hi, 2010! Yoroshiku :).

I want to experience more; more firsts, seconds, thirds. Because I want to live with no regrets x).
