The first song that caught my attention the first time I listened to the album and the song I've been putting on repeat the whole day today. I don't know, it just sounds really nice ♥. I love the lyrics too, especially the chorus.

You know, honestly, the first time I listened to Daughtry's new album, Leave This Town, I was kinda disappointed. Compared to the songs from previous album, almost all of which I instantly liked the moment I heard them, the new songs didn't stick in my head as easily and I didn't really feel anything special about them, save from one or two. However, after listening to the album continuously over the last 2 days, I have grown to like all the songs. I think I'm going to be posting a few more songs from the album sooner or later, haha. Just listen to the album x).

Beautiful song with only piano, acoustic guitar and vocals for the most part, and drums and electric guitar coming in only in the last third of the song. I love it ♥♥♥. Chris' singing is very nice in this song.

I've been watching BOF! At episode 18 now. Going ga-ga over how totally nice JiHoo is. I feel for JiHoo! He's sooo nice towards JanDi. I wonder how is it that any girl can not fall for him, not only because he's stunningly gorgeous, but because he's considerate, selfless, and when he loves someone, he treats her really well. I understand that JanDi is an exception, though, since she's in love with that idiot JunPyo, haha. For every version, I want Makino to be whoever she loves, even if it means that Rui's love can never be requited. Ultimately, I always side with the female lead, huh? haha.

I think it's an understatement that Hyunjoong had a lot of females killed with his sparkling eyes and blinding smile, LOL. He has been doing really well as JiHoo too! I'm not that one-sided though. KimBum is really cute! And he looks hot when he's angry xDD. And he acts well :). I've been appreciating WooBin (Kim Joon's role) more too in these later episodes. (I ship Soeulmates, but seriously, YiJung/WooBin's BFF actions make me giggle xPP.) AND! Lee Minho is truly a terrific actor. He nails his every scene, and even his eyes speak for him in scenes without dialogue. JanDi hasn't been annoying too! She's actually pretty cute :). And did you see that photoshoot with JaeHa? She has killer legs omg *__*. JaeKyung is very pretty! And JunHee (JunPyo's sister) too! *flails*

I shall stop talking about BOF xP.

Daughtry's No Surprise MV is out! I don't really get the story, but his band mates act a little in the MV, haha! I have yet to know their names >:[. Chris is looking really good, as usual ^^. I have a feeling he worked out a lot, since his arms look bigger than they used to be =X. But anyway! I love love this song :). Can't wait for the album to come out! I bet it will top the charts again x).

I have lotsa albums I haven't listened to yet, including SS501's Japanese album and Suju's new songs from the repackaged album >.<.

The first single off Daughtry's second album, Leave This Town, which will be out on July 14. The band performed it for the first time on American Idol this week, which obviously I caught on TV, owing to my brother who's a faithful follower of the show x).

I love this song! Chris' voice sounds different somehow, as if he's having a cold. But either way, he still sounds great :). I've always liked how clear his pronounciation is ^^. Somehow the song sounds harder than his previous songs, but still has that softness to it. I don't know how to explain it, but I think rock/pop is the perfect genre for Chris. If all the songs in the new album are this good, the album is so going to rock :D.

All along I've been waiting for the band's second album, since the first was released ages ago in 2006, but I didn't expect it to be released this year. I said that this year I'm only going to buy Jay's album, but there's no way in hell I can miss Daughtry's, so I'll obviously be buying that too :DD.

Something reminded me of the Chinese passage I read during my Chinese tuition last Saturday. It was about using friends for one's benefits, or more like, making "friends" to be used. That passage made me kinda disgusted then. My tuition teacher also asked me a question: "Which would you befriend; a hardworking student or a drug addict?", and looked at me with that "obviously-the-hardworking-student-right" expression. I told him that it depends; the drug addict may actually be a nice person but the hardworking student may not be a good person either. Which made him kinda speechless.

I believe that I'm neither naive nor dumb; I know that in real life, more often than not, one's best friend has to be oneself and the word "friendship" is just a mask to conceal one's selfishness. But I want to believe that true friends do exist. I want to. But it's getting harder to deceive myself, not that it was ever easy to start with.

The 5th single off the album, and my Daughtry song of the month! It's nice and I love the acoustic version of the song (first heard it on Idol Gives Back). His LIVE performances are great too! (1 2) The thing about Chris is that he changes a lot of parts of the songs, but the changed version sounds just right. And GOSH I LOVE HIS VOICE.

Apparently Feels Like Tonight was the the 4th single (MV). It is a very difficult song to sing; the screaming notes are high so he can't really sing this perfectly LIVE.

The band is actually touring now and they are starting to perform new songs. I demand a new album! It's been more than 1 year already.. D: And come to Singapore again please! But hold the concert in the Indoor Stadium, not in a club. ><

DAUGHTRY autograph session.

Firstly, when I reached The Hereen at around 1.50 pm, no one was there. There wasn't even the slightest sign that there was gonna be an autograph session. I went into HMV, asked the staff, and found out that they were indeed coming at 4. When I went out, around 8 people were already queuing. So, I went to join the line. More people came, and at around 3, one staff suddenly came and asked whether we have the coupon. I was dumbstruck cos I didn't have one. The person beside me then explained that you have to buy from HMV to get the coupon to get an autograph. But after a while, the staff came back and told us that the ones who didn't have a coupon would have to form a separate line and wait until the ones who have a coupon have got their autographs. It didn't really matter, really, cos there weren't really a lot of people. There were also a group of people who didn't have a coupon.

The thing is, I didn't even know that actually I had to buy from HMV. There was no advertisement, no nothing. I bought the album a long long time ago, when 'Home' wasn't even airing in radio yet. Heck, I didn't know that they were gonna come here. Even though I admit that I don't know any of the members' name other than Chris, not buying from HMV doesn't make me less of a fan than those who bought the album recently or even some ten minutes before 4 just because they were gonna have an autograph session. *shrugs*

Like I said, there weren't a lot of people. There were only like 80 or 100 at most, comprising of Chinese, Malays, Indians and Eurasians. There were even some really young Eurasian kids who came with their mothers. haha. Anyway I could tell that the band came at around 4.05 pm cos of the screams of the people inside. The whole thing ended in around 30 minutes. I feel kinda sad for them, cos they've got double the talent of, say, a certain boyband whose autograph session was packed with 6000 screaming girls. But well, I guess it's partly because of the lack of publicity. Anyway, when I finally went to the stage, somehow I didn't dare to say anything. It was a 'sign-and-go' session, so all I did was stare at them and dumbly say 'thank you' after they signed. And smiled when they looked up. Oh, I did say 'hi' to Chris, though. I can safely say that I did not stare at Chris only, I looked at whoever was in front of me. I didn't want the other members to feel not as liked, actually, cos I know that most of the band's fans are fans of Chris since AI. I am one, too, but then I'm a fan of the band also. =)

Yea, yea, I know Jaejoong looks good. I mean, he's the best looking out of the five; sometimes he looks too pretty for a guy, yet he can be very manly as well. Anyway, I don't know why the magazine included this one whole section of Yunjae. Like there's this completely separate book consisting only pictures of Yunjae together, Yunho and Jaejoong alone. No other DBSK members. (maybe they'll do the special edition of the other members the following month or something) Plus the fact that it's in A3 size, much bigger than the whole magazine itself, even though the cover page isn't even DBSK, but Super Junior. Somehow I really suspect that there are some Yunjae/Yoosu fans in the editor team of S Magazine, cos last month's issue was also full of them. It's just that now it's made plain for everyone to see, we don't even need to spot the little hints anymore. I ain't complaining though. Seriously I feel like buying. S Mags are imported every month by Kinokuniya, sold at $40 I think. argh money money money.

By the way, DAUGHTRY came to Singapore. They performed today in St James Powerhouse, but since I'm not 18 yet, I couldn't go and watch them perform. But! They're holding an autograph session tomorrow at 4 pm at HMV, The Hereen. I'm gonna go. Like DUH. xD

Good ol' music

Hey! I'm here to make some recommendations. Good things are to be shared, right?

First up-- DAUGHTRY! (the band's name is spelled in caps, for your info)

It's a rock band fronted by Chris Daughtry. I bought the album months ago because of him (long story), but the album itself is great. I love every track in the album, and that's not something I can say about many other albums I've heard. Most of the songs are rock, but they're not as uhm.. noisy as other rock songs may sound. It's kinda hard to pick a favourite, but if I have to, I'd say that I like "Home" the most. It's just a pity if you don't know of such a good band. So just give it a listen, it's really good. I can even send you the songs if you want. ^^

Next! Nickelback. I love the lead singer's voice, whoever he is. It's hoarse and very very suitable for the genre. They're a rock band, but somehow other than maybe the music arrangement, their songs aren't exactly rock-ish. They sound more pop-ish, actually. But the songs will still be able to stay in your playlist for quite a while.
