曹格 - 倒數五答應我

This is such a sweeeeeeet song :))). I may be a very realistic person, but I really love the lyrics. Especially 第三个要求; you'll know what I'm talking about when you listen to the song xD. And what can I say, I guess the way Cao Ge sings this song is just really sweet, that I would choose to abandon my skeptical personality for a while ^^.

Why the heck did I not watch this before?! I love seeing Xiao Zhu, Xiao Gui and Cao Ge together; they're all very good friends, so they are very comfortable with one another and they have very good chemistry together. The 娛樂百分百 episodes with Cao Ge on them are especially hilarious; that's why I've been watching them xD.

This was when Cao Ge's voice was all zaosia-ish. And you did not read wrongly; it's a 聽證會, even when his voice was like that. It's painful listening to his speaking voice :(. But like I said before, he's such a professional! The moment he started singing, you'd go O____O 'cos he still sounded really good. 他好厉害喔 :). AND AND he sang I'll Be There HOMG. I LOVE THAT SONG :))). (Cao Ge's original English version totally beats the duet by 张惠妹 and 萧敬腾. I'm not being biased or anything; I've always been in awe of Amei's singing and Jam has a cute personality, but I think that song sounds better as a solo.)

I think the best part about Cao Ge's singing is not his soothing voice, his amazing technique or his crazy vocal range; it's the emotion he puts into singing. Like what he always says when he becomes a judge on some singing competitions -- emotion when singing is very important, and if you do feel what you're singing, then the audience will too. And that's what sets Cao Ge apart from some other singers: when he sings, we can feel that he isn't concentrating on whether he looks good on the camera, whether he hit the notes perfectly, or whether he's able to show off his techniques. He just simply sings, because he loves singing, because he wants to share with us how he feels about the song. He sings out what he's feeling at the moment he sings. That's why I love listening to and watching him sing.

And there I went again; blabbering on about things I've said a million times before LOL.

I think one day I'll re-watch all the variety shows with Cao Ge on them, especially the 聽證會s, just because the MCs' reactions to Cao Ge's singing are always so funny xDD. And Cao Ge is very humorous too, actually ^^.

Cao Ge sings really, really well. It's not just that he has a good voice, broad range and great techniques, or merely nice songs; it's the amount of emotions he put into singing that really allows him to shine when he sings. We can see that he means every word he's singing.

数到五答应我 is such a sweet song; it lets one have that 幸福的感觉 :D.

Cao Ge is very cute ^^. I'm really happy for him that he's had a family of his own now :)). And it's cute how he's close with Xiao Zhu and Xiao Gui! Random: I like his shirt xP.

And by the way, XIAO ZHU IS SO HILARIOUS, OMG xDD. I can't emphasise this enough. I'm so glad that I can understand Chinese without subs, just because I can watch this show x).

I just saw 曹格 in 娛樂百分百, promoting his concert in Taipei. (I sat like less than one metre away from the TV, lol.) I didn't watch from the very beginning so I'm not sure what exactly he had, but I know that he must have had a sore throat or something, 'cos he was speaking in this zaosia-ish voice, which sounds really funny (and somehow ironic since I never heard him go off-pitch before even when singing xP) but which I found adorable. Hey, he's admirable for his professionalism for not cancelling his appearance on the show even when his voice was like that. And heck, I just like him. What. xD

ARGHH.

FREAK I DIDN'T KNOW THAT CAO GE'S CONCERT IS THIS SATURDAY. Like, I know everyone knows except me. And even if I know now, so what? There are still seats left for most of the categories, and I still can't go. Because of my shitty results and 'cos my savings is basically still depleted. Cao Ge, can you hold a concert in Singapore again after my 'A' Levels? PRETTY PLEASE? T.T

曹格 rules.

I don't think I've ever said how much I really love 曹格. His singing, I mean. xP If I'm not such a big fan of Jay, 曹格 would have been my favourite singer. And even now, I acknowledge him as the best Chinese singer. It's not just that his voice can go really really high (here), which alone is very impressive (I'm a girl and I can't go that high =X). I think the best point about his singing is that he always sings with such emotion in his voice (most of the time, at least) that I lost count how many times I got goosebumps while listening to him sing. SUCH PERFECTION. *.* I didn't like his voice that much at first, but now I like it a lot. Not only that, he writes his own songs too. He said that he was rejected by a lot of companies before 'cos they said that he "isn't good-looking enough". But hey, that's their loss for rejecting such a talent. And even though he isn't exactly cover-boy material, he can be cute okay. xD

我要快乐 & My Way -- It was a small concert at a pub in Malaysia, and he was drinking quite a lot. He lowered the pitch a little for the first song, but that's understandable; after all he's a guy and 阿妹's voice is already higher than a lot of girls. He also said "fucking asshole" after the line "谢谢了 伤我的人", which makes me wonder whether he's been hurt before. He might just have been drunk, but somehow I doubt so since he looked almost on the edge of breaking down when he sang that song. It was a long time ago, but this is actually why I was so worried when I read on the newspaper that he cried while singing 背叛 earlier this year. But anyway. The second song is actually a duet song, so he sang both the lower and higher pitch separately. haha.

想家 -- Look out for 小猪's expression after he sang. He even said "你没有干掉周杰倫我跟你姓", which made 曹格 pretty flustered. haha. The two of them are very good friends, anyway.

新不了情 (1 2 3) -- I've never heard this song before 曹格 sang it, but now I really like it. 'Cos he sang it so well. I love seeing people's expressions after he sings, and in the first link you can see 黑人's super big reaction. xD

黑色幽默 -- I'm sick of comparisons. Sure, 曹格 sings like a pro, but his version is different from Jay's. And I get really angry when I see comments such as "Jay can't sing" or "if other artists were to sing the songs Jay compose, they'd pawn". GO TO HELL. sheesh. Anyway, in terms of technique, 曹格's version is top notch, but personally I prefer Jay's version as in my opinion, it sounds sadder when Jay sings it. Both are really good, though, so stop comparing, people. Seriously.

背叛 (1 2) -- I LOVE this song the first time I heard it. In case you don't know, this song got popular last year after the promotion period was over because it was sung by two contestants of 超级星光大道. Then there was the usual comparison. Honestly I'm not biased or anything, but for me, 曹格's original version is still the best, no matter whether it's the skill or the emotions.

I'll Be There (just the audio; demo of 张惠妹's 一眼瞬间) -- He wrote this song for 阿妹. Don't you think that his demo version sounds sooo good? Personally I like it much better than the one recorded in her album.

I'll stop commenting about the videos and just put the links 'cos I'll just forever be gushing about how amazing his singing is. =P
