4/23 [diary] Dongwan - If Being An Adult...

People I wish to meet and,
People I have to meet.

Things I wish to do and
Things I have to do

Places I wish to go and
Places I have to go

Originally thinking that after distinguishing these
I may have better control ...

However, eventually becoming more helpless
As rules and regulations these sort of stuffs are being set by the adults
And because I am an adult
I thought I may be very clear about it but...
I am becoming even more unclear and helpless

If really cannot cope with it...
At that moment....~!

this and that.

Linkin Park - Pushing Me Away

I've lied / to you
The same way that I always do
This is / the last smile
That I'll fake for the sake of being with you

[Everything falls apart / even the people who never frown / eventually break down]
The sacrifice of hiding in a lie
[Everything has to end / you'll soon find we're out of time left
To watch it all unwind]
The sacrifice is never knowing

Why I never walked away
Why I played myself this way
Now I see your testing me pushes me away

I've tried / like you
To do everything you wanted to
This is / the last time
I'll take the blame for the sake of being with you

LIVE (1 2)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Something reminded me of the Chinese passage I read during my Chinese tuition last Saturday. It was about using friends for one's benefits, or more like, making "friends" to be used. That passage made me kinda disgusted then. My tuition teacher also asked me a question: "Which would you befriend; a hardworking student or a drug addict?", and looked at me with that "obviously-the-hardworking-student-right" expression. I told him that it depends; the drug addict may actually be a nice person but the hardworking student may not be a good person either. Which made him kinda speechless.

I believe that I'm neither naive nor dumb; I know that in real life, more often than not, one's best friend has to be oneself and the word "friendship" is just a mask to conceal one's selfishness. But I want to believe that true friends do exist. I want to. But it's getting harder to deceive myself, not that it was ever easy to start with.

DAUGHTRY - What About Now

Shadows fill an empty heart
As love is fading,
From all the things that we are
But are not saying.
Can we see beyond the scars
And make it to the dawn?

Change the colors of the sky.
And open up to
The ways you made me feel alive,
The ways I loved you.
For all the things that never died,
To make it through the night,
Love will find you.

What about now?
What about today?
What if you're making me all that I was meant to be?
What if our love never went away?
What if it's lost behind words we could never find?
Baby, before it's too late,
What about now?

The sun is breaking in your eyes
To start a new day.
This broken heart can still survive
With a touch of your grace.
Shadows fade into the light.
I am by your side,
Where love will find you.

Now that we're here,
Now that we've come this far,
Just hold on.
There is nothing to fear,
For I am right beside you.
For all my life,
I am yours.

The 5th single off the album, and my Daughtry song of the month! It's nice and I love the acoustic version of the song (first heard it on Idol Gives Back). His LIVE performances are great too! (1 2) The thing about Chris is that he changes a lot of parts of the songs, but the changed version sounds just right. And GOSH I LOVE HIS VOICE.

Apparently Feels Like Tonight was the the 4th single (MV). It is a very difficult song to sing; the screaming notes are high so he can't really sing this perfectly LIVE.

The band is actually touring now and they are starting to perform new songs. I demand a new album! It's been more than 1 year already.. D: And come to Singapore again please! But hold the concert in the Indoor Stadium, not in a club. ><

Shinhwa #9

I finally got my Special Limited Edition Album (thanks to wenyi @ ShinhwaChangjo.net!), so I'm gonna write my opinions on the songs.

1. Last Train Home
This is just a 1+ minute intro for the album.

2. Voyage
I love this song. I said before that what I like about Shinhwa's songs is that they balance the rap and singing perfectly. And it's evident in this song.

3. 다시 한 번만 (Just One More Time)
I think I ranted about how I love this song here. But I didn't elaborate that much. Now I'm gonna declare that this is MY FAVOURITE SONG EVER. I love it to bits, from the melody, the background music, Minwoo's soft adlibs during the first chorus, Hyesung's powerful singing, Dongwan's crystal clear vocals (I sooo love his voice here), etc etc etc. This song has reached 110 play counts in my iPod. xD

4. Free Style #1
50 seconds of just Eric rapping, meant to be an intro for the next song. I thought that the lyrics are pretty cocky ["..Too many wanna be tryin' be us but no access Ten years in this business still keepin' it strong.."], but I guess 10 years as a group together is no small feat. ^^ The song ended with "Hey yo, M, what's your name, man?"

5. Run
The song started with Minwoo saying "Shinhwa!", so he was answering Eric's question in the previous song, I guess? haha. It's the first single of the album, and composed by Minwoo, written by Eric. The song is totally Minwoo-ish. My favourite part in the song would probably "We are Shinhwa~ HMM!" by Minwoo. LOL. xD

6. 2 Ma Luv
A feel-good song.

7. We Can Get It On (feat. David Kim)
At first I thought the style is a bit strange, but now I like it a lot. I love how Minwoo sounds here; so.. sexy. xPP And I like Andy's rapping in the chorus too! "Ten years in the game and still on top, you already know they can't be stopped!" Indeed. =) Dongwan and Junjin don't have any solo parts though. =(

8. So In Love
A Shinhwa-ish song.

9. 기억나니? (Do You Remember?)
A talking track. I don't understand a single word they were saying, but they sound so happy and were laughing happily, that somehow I feel happy listening to it. Laughter is infectious! I can't really differentiate who was talking most of the time but I think it was Dongwan (or Hyesung) who talked while holding back his laughter; it is SO CUTE. xDD They were trying to make up a song on the spot, I think. And they failed a few times and kept trying. Very funny. xD The final "song" is quite nice, too.

10. 아직 못다한 이야기 (The Story We Haven't Yet Finished)
A very sweet song. They recounted the journey they went through together, and told the fans to wait for them.

Although we are leaving each other for a while
we hope you will please believe us when we say
the day we're together again
when that day comes
we promise to let you listen
to the story we haven't yet finished

I will wait. That goes without saying. =)

Overall, I think it's a very good album. $36.90 for a CD and a photobook for the CD booklet is a very reasonable price. I was quite disappointed that there are only 7 "proper" song (minus #1, #4 and #9), but I know they put a lot of thoughts into the album, since I know there are some songs they composed that didn't make it into the album. It's quite a pity that it's their 9th album (not 10th) on their 10th year anniversary, but like Eric said,
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
"How nice it would be if we released our 10th album during our 10th anniversary?" I thought about that before.
But looking at it now...
That we seem to be making up for 1 in the future and leaving a void now.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Therefore, they are going to be back.

Anyway, every special limited edition album has a serial number on it (1-6 are for the members), and mine is 049848. It's more like a photobook since it's A4 size, and the pictures are pretty! I've seen all the scans before, but still, it's nice to own one. xD I only flipped the photo book once in the MRT, though, since I don't have time. T.T

All of them look great, but Minwoo is seriously killing me. I can't wait for his birthday in July, when I'll have an excuse to spazz about him. xDD

EDIT: I realised that I only posted the sombre-looking pictures even though there are lots of happy pictures in the photobook, which I personally like more. hmm. Anyway, I decided to buy the normal edition poster ('cos the colour is baby blue, everyone looks happy and it looks fldksldfk nice!) (even though I got that ^ black poster) and Dongwan's first album through the forum (which I'm guilty of snagging online =X). The poster is $8, and the album is $15. Kinda ridiculous that I'm buying Dongwan's album at half the price of Minwoo's. And that I'm buying Dongwan's first album when he's gonna release his 2nd in May. But better late than never, right? =D

sheeshs.

Did you watch DBSK's new (not very new actually; I watched it like quite some time ago) MV, Beautiful You? It's s good song, kinda mid-tempo. They sound great, especially Changmin near the end. Yunho's sounding better and better, for real. I really like how he sounds now. More confident and better control. The only complaint I have for the song is that Yoochun sings like, one short line and one longer line only. Like, o.0. But anyway, the boys look great in the MV. But because I'm biased I only post Yunho's picture. lol. He looked kinda angst-y and his hair was done okay and I like what he wore!

Now for the bad. I really really want to shoot 2U's hairstylists on the head. Yunho's looking too much like a woman with his exceedingly long hair while Yoochun's got some weird yellowish highlights on the sides of his head. When Yunho's long hair is styled nicely (like in the MV) he looks pretty (in a good way) and more mature somehow, but the ponytail thingy he has for the concerts is a big NONO. Yoochun looks more bearable in comparison. But uhm. I want the manly Yunho and Yoochun without weird hairstyles back! D:

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I totally LOVE Junsu's adlibs at the end. So nice and SEXY. xDDD

Linkin Park - One Step Closer

I cannot take this anymore
I'm saying everything I've said before
All these words they make no sense
I find bliss in ignorance
Less I hear the less you'll say
But you'll find that out anyway

Just like before...

Everything you say to me
Takes me one step closer to the edge
And I'm about to break
I need a little room to breathe
'Cause I'm one step closer to the edge
And I'm about to break

I find the answers aren't so clear
Wish I could find a way to disappear
All these thoughts they make no sense
I find bliss in ignorance
Nothing seems to go away
Over and over again

Shut up when I'm talking to you

Something is not right if I've been listening to Korean songs 24/7 but suddenly I'm switching to Linkin Park's songs.

Sunday 13 April 2008

being random..

Here's a fancam of Jay's concert in Macau. He invited a girl on stage to sing with him. Lucky girl! They had a funny conversation too lol.

And here's another fancam. During the concert light sticks weren't allowed, but some fans managed to sneak them in so Jay asked them to throw the light sticks to the stage for him to play drums with. He asked for “比较粗的” “有颜色的,比较亮丽” and said “不要理会保安,保安出去” LMAO. SO CUTE. xDD

one picture..

^that's Hankyung, by the way. He looks like a blowfish ROFL. <3

In contrary to what I initially thought..

..Suju isn't just about crack. So it's a music post! I think I can almost differentiate all their voices now. I just need to hear more of some of them who don't sing that much. =X

You Are The One (MV | LIVE)
U (MV | LIVE 1 2)
Believe (fan tribute)
Miracle (MV | LIVE)
So I (LIVE)
Don't Don (MV | LIVE)
미워 Hate U, Love U (LIVE 1 2)
Marry U (MV | LIVE 1 2)
사랑이 떠나다 She's Gone (pictures slide)
아주 먼 옛날 Song For You (pictures slide)

I'm sure you can differentiate which are really LIVE and which are not. In the Marry U LIVEs, Kyuhyun was in hospital and the members took turn singing his parts; they did well! Donghae sang Kyuhyun's part near the end and you can hear how alike their voices actually sound. Donghae's voice is very nice; I think he should actually join the K.R.Y to make up.. K.R.Y.D or something. xP

Anyway, my favourite Suju songs are: So I [Kangin sounds FABULOUS in this song, shoot me but I really like his falsetto 8D], 미워 [the lyrics T.T; this might just be my #1 favourite song of theirs] , Marry U [Eunhyuk's rap!] and She's Gone [the lyrics are also very sadd].

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

K.R.Y have NICE voices so I'll say it once only. I like Ryeowook's voice too now, btw. ^^

videos:
The One I Love (MV | LIVE 1 2 3)
Forget Me Now
Marry U
I Have A Lover (with Donghae)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

I admit, vocal-wise I'm kinda biased towards Yesung. I really really really love his voice. When I listen to Super Junior's songs, every time it's his parts I'd go "gahhh it's Yesung". His voice is just so nice and sexy. And do you know that good singers look hot when they're singing, no matter whether they're good-looking or not? However like I said, he can't really hit the high notes, but I believe he'll improve. Yesung hwaiting! =)

mixed birthday post!

If you're wondering why I haven't been posting that much lately, that's because school's killing me I have another blog now. It's PURELY meant for spazzing, which would be very apparent if you were to read the posts. I transferred some of the posts here to the new blog, but other than that sometimes I may choose to post there instead of here (depends on my mood). It's here, if you would like to see it. xP

Anyway, I decided to revive this blog a little. But I don't have anything I'd like to post, so I thought I should do a combined April belated-birthdays post for the artists I like but don't know much of. So I can only provide you with a few pictures each, 'cos I haven't watched much of their stuff yet.

First is Eunhyuk! He turned 22 on the 4th. To be honest I don't find him that good-looking (he kinda looks like Tablo and Jang Woo Hyuk, don't you think?), but now he's one of my favourite five Suju members (others: Donghae, Siwon, Kangin and Hankyung; in no particular order). He's a downright HUMOROUS guy (as I spazzed about here), has such good temper and personality (the members pranked him a lot of times 'cos he's just so nice), is a good rapper and dancer, plus he's Junsu's best friend. ^^

Next up, Siwon! He turned 22 on the 6th (the birth date on his official profile is fake). Initially he was one of the members I could recognise (along with Kibum 'cos I used to think that the two of them were the best looking ones), but I didn't like him yet because, well, I don't just go for looks. Obviously he looks great; his dimples and smile can make you die and his LOL-worthy facial expressions are the win. But! he turned out to be this nice, GENTLEMANLY guy whom I can't find any flaw in. Seriously, he's like, almost perfect (the catch being almost: screen persona may not be real). There was a poll done by ahjummas to vote for which male celebrity they would most want to see marry their daughters and become their son in law. And Siwon was the top. It's not surprising, really, 'cos even I would want a son-in-law like him. xD

Last but not least, Yamapi! He turned 23 on the 9th (yesterday). Okay, admittedly I don't know anything about his personality. But I do know that he's got the potential to become a great actor, sings quite well and that he's hot. I'll watch his dramas one day, after I'm done with Takuya Kimura's and Oguri Shun's, maybe? xP

I posted 4 pictures for every one. I'm fair, right? xD Anyway, I realised that I forgot to make birthday posts for Eric and Andy. I didn't include them here, 'cos every Shinhwa member deserves one post on their own. Next year, maybe? =X

Westlife - I Wanna Grow Old With You

Another day
Without your smile
Another day just passes by
But now I know
How much it means
For you to stay
Right here with me

*The time we spent apart
will make our love grow stronger
But it hurt so bad I can't take it any longer

**I wanna grow old with you
I wanna die lying in your arms
I wanna grow old with you
I wanna be looking in your eyes
I wanna be there for you
Sharing everything you do
I wanna grow old with you

A thousand miles between us now
It causes me to wonder how
Our love tonight remains so strong
It makes our risk right all along

*

**

Things can come and go I know but
Baby I believe
Something's burning strong between us
Makes it clear to me

**
------------------------------------------------------------------

It's a nice song. And the lyrics are pretty too. Too bad they're just words.

KANGTA.

Today's the day of Kangta's enlistment to the Army. It's April's Fool, but unfortunately I ain't kidding. Why are so many artists enlisting to army this year? T.T

Anyway. Kangta was actually the one who got me into KPop, and for that, I'm eternally grateful to him. The first time I saw him was in a poster with Vanness (when they did the collaboration), and to be honest I thought that he looked feminine. But now I think he looks great; I love his eyes! His smile is ADORABLE and he's just good-looking in general. ^^

I have very little pictures of him (I fail as a fan =X), but I'm just gonna post a few.

The thing about Kangta that made me like him at first was his VOICE. It's low and he may sound kinda rough at some point, but no matter what he sounds good. One of the best voices from Korea I've heard, EVER, recorded or LIVE. And it says a lot since Korea is filled with wonderful singers. Junsu used to train under him, and if the student is that good, obviously the teacher must be good, if not better. Regarding his songs, I'm not too fond of his jazzy songs, adore his happy/sweet songs, absolutely love his ballads. His singing is the type that makes you unconsciously sing/shout along with him, because of the amount of emotion he puts in (so much that it gets depressing sometimes D:). I can listen to his voice all day. Heck, even the short interlude songs where it's only Kangta's voice talking in gibberish Korean and a piano background are rated five stars. *.* It's a plus that he can play the piano and composes his songs himself too (as well as for some other singers). ^^

No post on Kangta is complete without videos of him singing, right?

If you didn't click anything, at least watch the Pine Tree LIVE 2! It's such a beautiful song and is my favourite song of his (even though it's hard to choose one). And and! The Memories #1 & #2 LIVE was PERFECT too. 8D

I'm gonna miss you (and your voice), Kangta! Take care of your health in the army, and come back with even better songs after 2 years! =)

White is Kangta's (and H.O.T's) colour, anyway. And I love doing music posts. xD
