Watched 不能說的.秘密 yesterday. Honestly, it's much better than expected. And it's got nothing to do with me being a Jay Chou fan. Where do I start? First, the casting is very good. Huang Qiu Sheng is perfect as the strict but caring and sometimes funny father, plus the Nan Quan Ma Ma guys and Huang Jun Lang. Jay's acting has improved, but the one I really like the most is the casting of Gui Lun Mei. She's not breathtaking-ly pretty, but she's really natural and cute without trying too much. And she carried the emotion well. I almost cried at some point. Another thing to look out for is the crazy playing of piano by Jay and Yu Hao, and also the crosshands one by Xiao Lun and Xiao Yu. As for the plot.. well, I certainly wasn't expecting that storyline. The last part of the movie explains everything, and the pieces sorta came together. If you were to look at every detail, you might find some loopholes here and there, but then again somehow they don't seem to matter that much. The ending is satisfying too. I actually missed the first 15 minutes of the movie, but hey, now I've got an excuse to watch it again, right? haha. So, in conclusion, it's a very good movie. I'd rate it 4.5/5. Go watch it! =D
Did I mention that I really like the Xiao Lun/Xiao Yu couple? Even in real life, they're really cute. I watched a clip of Gui Lun Mei dancing with Jay's mother while Jay played the piano, and she could almost pass of as the family's daughter-in-law. During interviews, they seem comfortable with each other. Too bad she's already taken. xD
Sheesh I'm so high now. Sometimes I'm surprised at how much I seem to not think when it comes to Jay. Things like grabbing a magazine from the magazine stand without even considering when Jay's on the cover. It happens a lot, but I don't do that for other celebs, even though they're much better looking than him. hmm.
