a break. =)

I just finished watching my The Greatest Artist SHINHWA in 1998-2007 DVD that I received like, ages ago. The DVD is really worth the 60 bucks; it sorta summarises Shinhwa's history is the showbiz, as a group and as solo artists. (I just find it a pity that it doesn't include Shinhwa winning the Daesangs in 2004.) It's good for newer fans like me whose source of Shinhwa videos is limited to Youtube, as well as older fans who wish to reminiscence about Shinhwa's younger days. Lots of funny clips which made me laugh. At the end there were clips of performances and MVs of their hit singles from all their albums; it reminds me that Shinhwa is a terrific dance group. I actually have the urge to listen to their first few albums, since surprisingly I find myself liking those older songs or theirs. Anyway, the subbing of the DVD is really good too; there are only a few spelling errors, other than that everything is fine unlike AADBSK2. I found it amusing how for the individual activities segment, the members are divided into Ricdy, Woodong and Jinsung for the 3 DVDs. MBC must know the favourite pairings. xD

I love Shinhwa. =)

I just ordered Hyesung's 3rd album (scheduled to be released next Tuesday; I don't usually buy albums which I never listened to before (to ensure that I only buy good albums worth buying (but Jay's albums are definitely worth buying so he's an exception xP), but Hyesung's doing ROCK and other genres in this new album, plus there's a song written by Kim Jae Suk who wrote my #1 favourite song of all time, Shinhwa's Just One More Time, so how can not get this album? xD), Shinhwa's State in the Art in Seoul Concert DVD, FTTS' Transition and Best Album (Eternity), which sums up to slightly more than 100 bucks. What? It's a yearly splurge. xD

EDIT:
8/21 [news] Eric: Shinhwa won't disband, until everyone calls for our retirement

"For Shinhwa, even if we wanted to disband, we can't."

Eric Mun Jung Hyuk talked about his thoughts about the fans' fears of Shinhwa disbanding at the post-filming celebration party of KBS2 drama's Strongest Chil Woo, held on 20 Aug at Yeouido.

Eric said, "Shinhwa can't disband even if we wanted to. Until the day when everyone starts to say that we should retire, Shinhwa will not disappear."

He added, "Right now the members are focusing on their solo activities, and it looks like the direction now is more of solo activities, and not group activities. This doesn't mean that Shinhwa is disbanding, it's just Shinhwa moving on to greater heights."

"Until the day everyone starts to say "Isn't it time for Shinhwa to retire?", there will be no possibility of disbanding. Shinhwa doesn't just belong to us, it belongs to the fans and the public who love us. For them, we will not disband."

He joked, "Shinhwa has the honor of being Korea's longest running idol group, it will be such a pity for us to give up now. If we go on, we'll continue breaking records, won't we?"

Eric will be enlisting for military duty in October, and prior to that he has planned for a short trip with his close friends.

I actually agree that Shinhwa members' individual activities just push Shinhwa as a group "to greater heights." I mean, compare their later albums to their older ones, and anyone'd notice a marked improvement in terms of individual member's vocals. Seriously, they've never sounded better than in their 9th album; that's when I thought that now Shinhwa is as good a vocal group as a dance group. Every member sings the lines in their own ways well with their own interpretation, but together as a group, they sound even better.

Eric's enlisting soon; Eric hwaiting! The other members will enlist soon after, but we'll be waiting for their come-back. =)
