After watching this video of Dongwan and Hyesung singing together, I felt this urge to write about Shinhwa. Where do I start? Well, firstly I have Theodora to thank for introducing me to this wonderful group. I think I first listened to the song Midnight Girl (actually I heard Perfect Man way back when I was in Indo, but I didn't know who they were); found that I actually liked it; and then went to watch the variety shows they appeared in. They are, in short, the cutest bunch of dorks you can find (yes, even DBSK can't beat them in that aspect). That was what got me into them in the first place. Xman episodes with Shinhwa are always the funniest ones. Each member is different, but if you see them together you can just feel the bond they share.

In terms of music, I must admit that I like mostly their ballads. Of course, there are a lot of their faster songs that are good, but they're only the ones from the 7th album onwards. The style of the songs in their early days just isn't my favourite. =X But frankly, I love their ballads as they always manage to find a balance between singing and rapping. Everything seems to fit together nicely and in place. It doesn't hurt that the singers (Hyesung, Dongwan and Minwoo) and rappers (Eric, Junjin, Andy) do their respective job really well, too. =)

I really really miss seeing Shinhwa together. Dongwan was talking about how he thought the group had split up in this recent episode of YSMM, and it made me really sad. They're all good with their solo activities and everything, but somehow it's just different when all of them are together. Of course I'm aware that no matter how much you want them to, groups don't stay together forever. But I can still dream, right? T.T

I foresee a string of posts for Shinhwa in the future, but I'll stop here for now. ^^

Kudos

.. to Kim Junsu! Yesterday DBSK held another concert in Malaysia, and as Yunho still hasn't fully recovered from his injury, Junsu did his dance parts. From all the fan accounts I've seen, Junsu seemed to be the busiest one in the concert; not only did he have to do Yunho's dance parts, he also sang an extra song, Timeless, with Zhang Li Yin. During his solo stage, when he sang My Page, he had to have (fake) rain pouring down on him. Yet he still performed well. I think I've spazzed enough about how good his live singing is, so I shan't say more. He looks awfully tired in most pictures I've seen, and he has the right to be. I'm proud of him. =)

That aside, I have to rant about Yunho. He's injured so I don't mind the slightest bit that he didn't dance, but the thing is, recently when they went to Utaban with Koda Kumi, he just did high kick; not once but thrice. Seriously, Jung Yunho, WTH are you thinking?! I wish someone would just knock him in the head. He can't dance yet he can do three high kicks? Dancing in Last Angel is unavoidable as they needed to promote the song with Koda Kumi, but other than that he didn't have to do anything else. Please please take better care of your health; the stage seriously looks incomplete without you dancing with the rest of the members. And Junsu will faint of exhaustion sooner or later if he has to keep doing your parts. Most importantly, I know you love your fans and would want to show your best on stage, but we'd rather you rest completely now and perform to the fullest after you've recovered. According to the fans, he did great for his solo stage, Spokesman, dancing but not too vigorously. But still, for the gazillionth time, take your time to recover, blockhead Yunho! Luckily he didn't exert himself during the concert; otherwise I think I'd flip. =X

Yoosu

Yoosu was the second pairing that I came to like. In my dictionary, Yoosu = laughter. Like I said in the previous posts, Junsu makes the people around him laugh a lot, being the Junsu he is. xD The members makes fun of Junsu a lot, but Yoochun is always the one who laughs the loudest at Junsu. In interviews, even though Junsu and Yoochun do not sit next to each other (in Japan), Yoochun would say something funny (usually about Junsu), which makes Junsu cracks up. If you have listened to any one of the Bigeast station episodes, you'd notice that whenever there are Yoochun and Junsu together, there'd be a lot of laughter. Most of the time, Junsu would say something which causes Yoochun to laugh uncontrollably. They love to make fun of each other, but it's all for good fun. =) (couple talk 1 2)





































Yoosu is the most widely accepted pairing; which means that they have a lot of fans and little anti-fans (unlike Yunjae which probably has as much fans as anti-fans). That's probably why the do a lot of fan-service, especially in concerts and performances.

From the couple talks, I got this impression that Junsu is the one who relies on Yoochun while Yoochun relies on Jaejoong. But it doesn't really matter as no matter what, they're really close friends. Yoosu together can brighten up even the darkest of my moods, which is why I like them a lot. <3

ROFL. That last picture is sooo funny. The hairstyle makes him look what, 5 years younger? It's like the less cool version of his hair during the 八度空間 period in 2001. I think Ah-sa looks cute, too. Hope the movie's gonna be good. xD

Bonjour!

I haven't gone online since Monday and yesterday when I did, I found tons of pictures at soompi. Apparently, DBSK's new photobook, Bonjour Paris, is out. I'm thankful that I'm not a crazed fangirl, 'cos there're four versions of the photobook, total costing 160 bucks. The pictures are really good, though. They always look suave in suits, but casual clothes is so much win. =D There are too many good pictures to post, so I'll just post some.

First is Yunho! He normally wears suits a lot, so much that he often looks like someone running for an election when he waves and smiles to the fans while wearing a suit in the airport. In casual clothings, though, you can see the cute/happy/hyper side of his (which according to Jaejoong, is his real self). I really really admire and respect his leader self, but the real Yunho is so adorkable (misspelling intended). For example, in this clip, he was waving and shouting random things at passerby; it's really funny (Junsu singing in the background and the slight Yunjae-ness is a bonus lol). Yunho with sunglasses is cool too. xD

Next is Changmin! I don't think I ever mentioned him before, but it doesn't mean I don't like him. He's smart, straightforward and can be very funny, especially in his UFO replies. Anyway, even though people have mentioned that he can be as pretty as Jaejoong, I didn't see it until I saw this picture. When I asked my brother who he thinks is the 'prettiest' among the five, he pointed to Changmin. lol.



















Moving on.. Jaejoong. He looks as gorgeous as ever, but someone should ban pink from his wardrobe. Anything pinkish on him makes him look prettier than he already is. Not sissy, just pretty. But then I'm not too fond of pretty guys. =X

Did I mention that I like Junsu with specs? He looks like a total nerd, yet a cute nerd at that. He's also really hilarious in the one of the previews of the DVD posted. Well, not just that one, but I'll come to that later.

Yoosu, you just can't miss them 'cos they're naturally there. The clip of Junsu joining the rest in Paris (he arrived later as he was in Brazil filming the Anyband cf that I spammed about here) made me all warm and fuzzy inside; you'd think that they hadn't seen each other for years. Yunho was squishing Junsu's cheeks (Hosu!), Jaejoong took his luggage, Changmin kept calling 'hyung hyung' and Yoochun just went straight and hugged him throughout. aww.














Lastly, Hosu! The clip of Junsu blabbering and Yunho trying to stop him is funny; Junsu looks positively drunk like that.

^haha Junsu looks like he's on high. Actually Yunho was the one being all hyper, but I think Junsu got influenced and started getting hyper as well. He's really too much crack, which is one of the reasons why he's so likeable. =)

Besides that, there are some Jaesu, 2U, Homin, Jaechun as well. I've restrained from posting too much pictures (I think I still did), but there are just too much to post. Thanks truckloads to those kind (and rich) people who scanned the photobook. =))

Takuya Kimura

I don't think I ever spazzed about Takuya Kimura other than the one mentioning that he's a good actor. I've just watched Hero SP on Channel U yesterday, so I feel like spazzing a little. =P

At first, I didn't think that he was handsome. Frankly, until now I still don't think he is. He's just good looking (in my dictionary, good looking does not equate to handsome). The first of his drama that I watched was Pride, and it remains as my favourite Asian drama ever. Honestly, before I watched that drama I never described any guy as "sexy" before. But after I watched it, I understood the meaning of the word. No, I'm not exaggerating. His role there is just so manly, so hard to understand yet so simple. I cant find any words to describe, but if you watch it, you may understand what I'm talking about. Satonaka Haru (but he's called Halu) is the drama character that I like most. The ratings for the drama wasn't that good compared to his other dramas though. =/


















Acting-wise, what can I say? I said before that he's my favourite actor. Maybe it's because no matter how bad his hair may look in some dramas, he always keeps me glued to the screen. Maybe it's because no matter what role he's acting as, it always comes across as believable. Uhm, I don't know?

Popularity-wise, he's needless to say the most popular Japanese actor. Ask any Japanese and they'd say that they know who Takuya Kimura is. Even though he's been in the entertainment industry for a decade, his dramas still top the ratings. The average rating for his dramas is 30%, while other Jdoramas usually only reach 20+% at most. All the discussions about who is gonna be "the next Takuya Kimura" is proof that his level of fame is the one that every actor is aiming for. I can go on and on, but it'll be too long as until now I'm still amazed at how popular he is.

Just for your information, he's 35 years old. Yeah yeah, I know that's like old. But I believe that all those charm comes with age, really. If you compare his facial features now and when he first acted in Long Vacation, you'd notice that they look quite different. Now he looks more rugged; his facial features and expressions just scream "character". Younger actors have prettier faces, but they don't leave as much an impression as he does. Even at that age and being a father of two daughters, he can still look like that, so that's saying something. And I still think that he's the only male that can pull off long hair without looking feminine. I'm not a fan of guys with long hair; I firmly believe that any guy looks better with short-ish hair. Even though the same goes for Takuya Kimura, he still looks good with long hair, so I don't really mind either way. But I'm watching Love Generation now and in the first episode, I had the urge to snip his hair off. xD



















Oh, I forgot to say that I really like his eyes. Well actually I like eyes in general. Very.. intense. xD

Jaechun

The soulmates. While Jaechun are really crazy dorks, they are just so brotherly. Anyone can tell that Yoochun relies on Jaejoong a lot and they have a lot of things in common. I must admit that the title 'soulmates' are suitable for this pairing. It was actually derived from the "TVfXQ Soul" tattoo Jaejoong has and "TVfXQ Mate" tattoo Yoochun has. Apparently Jaejoong's tattoo is confirmed but Yoochun's isn't. But besides that, they're roommates. They understand each other's personality and are very comfortable with each other. There was this period of time when I thought that Yoochun had a crush on Jaejoong. =X (couple talk 1 2)
