Zettai Kareshi (Absolute Boyfriend)

I wasn't planning to watch this drama, at first. Something happened, two days ago, and I just did, out of impulse. But that's not important, ne ^^?

I read the manga a long time ago (because the mangaka is the author of Imadoki, which is one of my favourites), and as expected, the story in the drama is changed quite a lot. The changes are good, though. The drama is better than the manga, in fact; it's more mature in terms of the emotions :).

Basically this drama is about Riko, an innocent, serious girl who has been rejected by guys practically all her life. She's working in Asamoto, a confectioner, as a temp worker and her dream is to become a Patisserie. One day she was approached by a guy, Namikiri, who claimed that he could change her life. And so she filled in her choices for an ideal boyfriend, thinking that it was for a matchmaking session. Then Night, a robot, was sent to her, having all her choices programmed within him. Soshi is Riko's boss; they worked together and along the way he developed feelings for her.

Riiko reminds me of Makino in HYD a lot, especially the way she smiles widely after eating something delicious. She has good personality and all, but in the first few episodes she pissed me off 'cos she was so mean towards Night, even though he was being so nice towards her. She liked Soshi then, and they're quite cute together. It's so sad how when she started liking Night, his mechanism couldn't take the emotions he was feeling. But when she finally loved him, they're really sweet together ^^. (I'm a NightxRiko -shipper, haha!) Here's a NightxRiko fanvid.

Night really behaves like a robot sometimes, especially his expressions and the way he blinks his eyes slowly when he's confused. He's programmed to be Riko's ideal boyfriend, so it's natural that he treats her well. He's always there. It was scary when he started feeling what he wasn't supposed to (being a robot) and started doing things he wasn't programmed to, though. But he did, which makes him likable and relateable, but at the same time, it's scary. In the later episodes he became more of a human than a robot. His love for Riko was programmed in him, but that doesn't make it fake; it's probably more real than some people's feelings. He's definitely an ideal boyfriend :).

Soshi's actor is Nanba-senpai from Hana Kimi, haha xD. (Mizushima Hiro!) Soshi is nice (and cute xP). He was a playboy at first, but after he realised his feelings for Riko, he changed. He's kinda idealistic and carefree, but at least he works for his ideals. He's got a knack for flavours too, so he's not as useless as he may look, lol. Here's a good SoshixRiiko fanvid (using DBSK's Doushite..? haha xD).

Namikiri was the one who made Night. Being the one who develop a lover robot, naturally he's a romantist. I really like him; he's funny xD. And he's got heart, man!

This drama is really funny; there are a lot of parts where I burst out laughing because of the baka things Night does. Some parts are touching, and others are scary. The lead girl is cute, and the lead guys are good-looking. (Night is hot :D.) Everyone acted their roles well ^^. The theme song is very nice too! The last episode is really SAD; I cried a bit a few times, lol. The ending is bittersweet, just like the manga's. It's good that they kept it that way, though. I don't know if Soshi got together with Riko in the end (since Night died), but I'll just assume so.

It's a really good drama :).

EDIT: I just watched the SP! I teared a little when Night asked Namikiri-san to shut him down; again when Riko and him were saying farewell; finally cried when Riko ran to Night and kissed him but he turned her around and pushed her forward, asking her to move on. It's so touching :'). And of course, Soshi and Riko got together ^^.
