Get well soon, Hongki!

Checked Soompi; F.T Island was actually just filling in last minute for Hyori, who happened to be admitted to the hospital. (Hyori noona hwaiting!) Hongki lost his voice because they had their concert 2 days in a row, the previous 2 days. And considering that it was a rock concert.. it's no wonder his voice was gone. And he's in hospital now =(. He was sick all along, but he didn't want to go to the hospital earlier because he didn't want to miss performances. He's gonna spend his new year eve in the hospital T__T. The rest of the band members must be tired too. BUT they're flying to Japan on the 2nd for another concert. Like, WTH o.0?! Hope they will recover before that, for the sake of the fans and themselves, as they'll feel really bad if the concert is canceled because of their health.

I can't believe there are some people bashing him. Can't they tell he's really sick? And I can objectively and non-biasedly say that he's a very consistent, great LIVE performer. He hardly misses a note when he's not sick. Those people should watch other F.T Island's performances and if they still say that he can't sing, they seriously should get their ears checked -.-". And they were last-minute replacements too! The news article was saying that Hongki feels "very ashamed since he could not show a good performance". I mean, he was sick but he still performed, so there's really nothing to be ashamed about, Hongki!

Someone posted the link to a fancam of Please Don't Love from their concert on the 28th. (Or here's another link on Youtube, more focused.) He was singing fine, but then after the 2nd chorus he sounded like he was choking, and then a few seconds later he cried. He tried to continue singing, but then, he broke down. After sobbing for a few seconds, he continued singing till the end, albeit still crying. I don't know whether he was crying because he was frustrated that he felt his voice was going, for my sharp ears noticed that he didn't quite hit 2 notes, or whether it was because he was overcome by emotions when singing the song, for even though I don't understand the song I know that it's a really sad song; but either way, it made me really really sad T___T.

EDIT: Here's another fancam of the same song on their concert the previous day, 27th. He was singing perfectly fine, and at the end he cried a teeny bit. Since he cried on both days singing the same song, I guess he can relate to the lyrics of the song, or was moved by it. I want to know the meaning of the lyrics ;__;. And now that I listen to the one on 28th again, he was singing okay, haha. My bad!

SBS Gayo Daejun 2008 performances

  • Junsu and Taeyang piano battle

    *_______*. I love the sound of a piano even though I admittedly don't practice nearly as much as should and I like guys who can play piano. This is nothing like the piano battle in Secret, but still awesome! Taeyang started first, singing Don't Wanna Try. His English is relatively decent and his singing is good :). I almost laughed when his voice cracked, though; sorry Taeyang xP. The piano parts are sweet :D. (I LOL-ed, though, when the camera went to Junsu in the beginning and you can hear the a horde of fangirls cheering, that he almost smiled at 0:39 xP. But seriously, the fangirls always cheered every time the camera was on him, even when Taeyang was performing =X. Cassiopeia, why do you have to disappoint me?) Then Junsu went next, singing My Everything. Junsu's English is.. well, Engrish xPP. This song focuses more on his vocals than the piano, I think. Or maybe I was just too distracted by his WONDERFUL singing, lol. But you can hear the piano in the background too ^^. Taeyang was clapping and grinning like a fanboy at 5:13 haha; so cute xD.


  • Daesung - Look At Me Gwi Soon
  • The first time I heard this song was actually when Hongki and Jonghun performed a short part of it on Star Golden Bell (they were so cute xD), but that's not the point. Daesung joined some other people halfway through the song, I think, and look at GD laughing at his seat, LMAO. His voice is really suitable for trot ^^. Seungri was doing the hand motions, too :D.


  • F.T Island - Love After + Girls Don't Know + Heaven
  • They all have some black eye thing going on; I personally think that some guys look hot with eyeliner (Hongki and T.O.P, to name a few) but this is kinda over-the-top for me, making them look like rocker wannabes =X. The instruments are all PLUGGED and the four are totally rocking it, man :)). Jonghun's guitar solo part is totally awesome! But HONGKI! The moment he started to sing I knew that he was sick. He messed up the timing in the later half, sounded so hoarse and even stopped singing for some time during Heaven. It was like he was forcing himself to sing, and he looked stressed because he messed up =((. Watching the performance was painful 'cos I couldn't stand seeing him like that and I could feel my heart in pain. But I still watched it, twice, because at the same time I admire his professionalism. Get well soon, Hongki ♥!


  • Dance Battle
  • The people are: Taemin (SHINee), Seungri (Big Bang), Eunhyuk (Super Junior), Jaebum (2PM), Yunho (DBSK). All of them are obviously good dancers to be included in this segment, so I won't say much xD. Eunhyuk was wearing a silver outfit+mask while dancing a robot dance; it was great :). Love Yunho's outfit, dance, attitude (yeahh!) and that smirk at 3:18 :DD. His hat fell off in the beginning, but I don't know whether it was intended 'cos he didn't flinch or anything xD.


  • DBSK - Wrong Number + Mirotic
  • They did well, as always. (What else can I say? xD) The entrances are quite hot ^^. They showed off their bare backs at the end, which is so LMAO haha!


  • Brown Eyed Girls + Epik High + Eun Ji Won - Where Is The Love (Korean ver.)


  • My favourite performance of the night! I didn't know there's a Korean version of this song LOL xD. I would have loved seeing Tablo rapping in English, but ohwells this is good too xP. I've seen Eun Ji Won at some variety shows (he was from Sechs Kies), and I adore him; he's such a humorous guy! I didn't know he raps, though :). I loved one part where Tablo and him were rapping to each other and Tablo went, "jongmal?" and Ji Won nodded xP. One of the Brown Eyed Girls sang while the other rapped; they're good. And Epik High? They're always awesome; no arguments there ♥. Loved Tablo's little introduction in the beginning. They're looking great =].

    DBSK - Bolero PV



    The PV is out :). Jaejoong and Junsu's hair are normal, Yoochun and Yunho's are a bit weird, Changmin's look nice. The PV is really classy and all, but the reason why you should watch it is just because this song is freakin' EPIC. Love all the duets and harmonizations. Seriously there's something about this song; it's just really really beautiful :)).

    081227 Music Core SS501 - U R MAN



    Firstly, do you know how EXCITED I was when I saw the news that Hyunjoong and Jungmin were gonna join the other 3 for this one performance? It's like, the first time in what seemingly like ages that the 5 of them are performing together.

    The first half of the performance only include the original 3, where I squealed during Youngsaeng's solo parts (before this song I really didn't know Youngsaeng can be that sexy, lol xPP), and Hyungjoon and Kyujong are looking awesome, as always. Then before the second chorus the music stopped, the 3 did a short dance and turned around, then the lights dimmed and Hyunjoong and Jungmin came down from above, holding onto poles LMAO. (It was quite hot but hilarious at the same time, you know xD?) Both of them are looking great! Then came Hyunjoong's voice, "Double S 501", the music started and all of them performed together. Listen to all the TRIPLES screaming :DD! (They quitened down during the performance and only cheered, LOUDLY, at appropriate parts though, so you can hear them singing perfectly fine. Some other fangroup should learn a thing or two. *cough*) How I've missed seeing them on the same stage :').

    I admit that even though I love this song, I didn't watch all the performances of this song; I only watched a few. (I do watch their subbed appearances on variety shows though!) But Hyungjoon, Youngsaeng and Kyujong did great with the vocals, as always. And all of them were good with the dance moves. Kudos to Hyunjoong and Jungmin for learning the dance moves, even when they're so busy with their own schedules!

    As elated I was, I was really irritated by the cameraman. He should have enough sense to know that the main point of this performance was SS501 together again, but he didn't even get any close-up on Hyunjoong and Jungmin! I wasn't ever that greedy to hope that the 2 would sing some lines as it would take time to recoreograph some parts of the dance, but I had hoped that they would get more screentime than this, where they seemed more like back-up dancers =(. I still squealed at the beginning of the chorus, though, when Hyungjoon, Hyunjoong and Jungmin came to the front to dance, and I can finally see Jungmin clearer. I caught Hyunjoong smiling too at 3:15 :D. (His smile? ALWAYS gets me xD.)

    And because I was frustrated with the broadcasted version, here are the awesome fancams: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10. TripleS was screaming non-stop during the rehearsal :DD. I can totally understand their feelings, since I was grinning like a mad person myself xP. I was smiling at the smallest things: Hyungjoon and Jungmin's small bickering, Hyungjoon waving goodbye to Hyunjoong when he was lifted by the pole (Hyungjoon is such a KID, I'm telling you xD), Jungmin and Hyunjoong diligently practicing their dance steps, Hyungjoon smiling at Hyunjoong, etc. You see how SS501-deprived I've been DD:. I re-watched the performance a few times, just because xP.

    I've been watching a lot of F.T Island's LIVE performances and a few of other stuff, and I think Hongki is my favourite member.


















    Initially Jonghun gave me the best first impression, since he's the leader and so he has the cool/calm/collected image. (Not to mention he's handsome ^^.) Hongki won me over with his voice, singing and expressions when he's singing. I'm still amazed that he can show such painful expressions when singing sad songs when he probably hasn't even experienced those feelings yet, and he said that it's because he was a child actor, that he could imagine and act out the emotions. (He looked exactly the same when he was a kid ^^.) And when he's singing happy songs he totally looks like he's enjoying himself on stage. His voice is now one of my favourite voices, you know? He's cute too :).

    I like the other members also; they're all very talented. They not only play instruments but sing too. All of them sound nice, especially Jaejin. Wonbin can sing best after Hongki. (I still can't distinguish between Jonghun and Minhwan's voices, but they rarely sing.) And on top of that they look like that, like wth o.0. Jaejin and Minhwan are out-of-bounds but Jaejin is really cute and Minhwan's serious look makes me chant "he's only 16" in my head sometimes. I seriously think that Jonghun looks much better with his hair shorter (I went -.-" when I saw After Love MV from the 2nd album, so pretty damn), but whatever it is, he's still the best-looking member ^^. Wonbin is actually the least pretty member (a good thing, imo), but after the 2nd album he kept his hair longer, proving the whole band can look pretty. It's a good thing that in that same album they decided to cut Hongki's hair short, otherwise... =X. But from the beginning, I knew Hongki is really pretty. He crossdressed on Star King once, and everyone (including me) went 0.0!!! 'cos he can really pass off as a very pretty girl. The world is unfair!

    It's called meaningless fangirl-ing. What xP.

    This song is one of my favourite F.T Island songs, and that's saying a lot since I happen to love all their songs :). I've been listening to this song on repeat, because: 1. I'm a sucker for pretty ballads; 2. Hongki's voice is just love; 3. he sings it with so much emotion that even though I don't know what he's singing I can feel the emotions. In this song only Hongki sings. I like all the other members' voices too, but well.. Hongki pawns ♥. I hope they'll perform this song LIVE one day ^^.

    KangIn/YunJi cut

    Kangin was given the address to meet his wife, and it was sooo adorable how happy he was; he went telling everyone (the policeman, fans on the street, etc) that he was getting married, lol. The place is the library of a university, and he brought a christmas tree there as a meeting gift xDD. It's so cute when Kangin and Yunji finally meet each other and they stood there laughing silently for one minute ^^. (Yunji is the girl from Pure 19, and I really like her; she's cute =].) Then when she was packing her stuff he went around the library telling everyone that she's his wife, they're married and stuff, while the captions say, "He's being a public nuisance" LOL. Then they went to eat dukbokki and talked, and Kangin, being him, just went off rattling, haha. (He was trying to convince her to go ahead with the fake marriage, since they had a choice.) He was very nervous xP. But because he talked a lot, this is probably one of the least awkward first meetings I've seen on the show ^^. Hope Yunji will choose to do the show!

    I think Kangin really wants to do this :). He's just such an adorable teddy bear, you know, that I'd be lying if I said that I didn't have the urge to hug him xPP.

    Since Kangin himself is so happy about doing this, I shouldn't think about how they'll feel when they have to end the marriage, right.

    EDIT: I didn't know there are more than 2 parts xP. She agreed to "marry" him, because he's humorous :)). They ate pork lung as a sign of their promise, and the "tough guy" Kangin ate it even though he doesn't like lung xD. (Kangin really likes to act tough, eh? He was wearing a low-cut shirt in the freezing cold and even gave his scarf to Yunji, all the time saying that he didn't feel cold.) And he didn't have enough money to pay, so Yunji paid LMAO.

    Then they went to get married! But first they collected signatures from 50 people, as witnesses. And in the meantime he got the storekeepers to give them wedding gifts (even couple rings!), haha. Kangin is such a people person :). Next week we'll see their wedding ceremony!

    Yunji is really cute; her smile is pretty ^^. She seems very down-to-earth and honest. I'm liking this couple already xDD.

    Hwanhee/Hwayobi cut

    In the earlier episode the couple left their house phone number for the audience, so they started listening to the messages, first of which was Seo In Young's, telling Hwanhee to treat Yobi better xD. The rest of the messages were cut, though, because there were negative comments =((.

    Then their wedding photoshoot album came! The wedding folding screen is so pretty, omg. Everything is pretty, basically xP.

    The mission came; which was to make a photo tree from January to December. But they only "got married" in September, so they went to make up a story, and had a lot of fun doing it LOL. (That gives a new meaning to a make-believe marriage *dry laugh*.) Hwanhee keeps suggesting stuff like he leaves her, finds a new girl and stuff, hahaha.

    Next they took the pictures (with timer), each with different set of clothes. The pictures came out really really nicely; no wonder they're celebrities xP. For December, they exchanged gifts; Yobi bought couple necklace for them, and I was quite surprised that Hwanhee did prepare something for her :).

    A quick intro: F.T Island :).

    I thought I should do a quick introduction even though I don't know them yet, haha xD.















    From left: Hongki (18 (and oldest by a few days), lead vocal); Jaejin (17, bass); Wonbin (18, guitar/vocal); Minhwan (16, drums); Jonghun (18, leader/guitar/piano).

    First impressions first. In that picture, Hongki is pretty, Jonghun and Wonbin are handsome, Jaejin and Minhwan are cute. (It changes with the hairstyles, though; all of them can look pretty, haha.) I've only watched like, 2 clips of theirs, but I've just confirmed my suspicions that I have a thing for guys who look mature and handle things in a calm and collected manner, lol. Guess who ^^? He seems like a potential player, though xP.

    Now on to the main point: I went through almost the whole of F.T Island's Korean discography; to my horror discovered that I could only delete a few songs from their first album and nothing else. I haven't even started on their Japanese one ;___;. I really love Hongki's voice, how he sings with emotion, and the fact that his voice suits their songs. (It's not a sin to love so many people's voices, 'kay?) For instance, Only One Person showcase his vocals very well. And when he sings LIVE he's very expressive too, in terms of his facial expressions and eyes. (Not to mention he almost always sounds perfect too.) It still amazes me that he sounds like that since he debuted, when he was only 17 at that time. (Heck, all of them are so young; Hongki is the oldest already -.-.) I like the contrast between Hongki's voice with Wonbin's, when they sing together at some parts. (All of them can sing and have nice voices, actually.) I enjoy watching their LIVE performances a lot :). Go watch any of them; you'll be surprised ^^.

    heck it.

    Remember the post where I talked about how I refuse to listen to newer/younger bands since I really don't want to like guys younger than me?

    Well.. I went to kpopsecrets (a comm where people post pictures with their "secrets"; I seriously don't get why there are so much of DBSK and SNSD hating -.-") yesterday and found one with SHINee/F.T Island picture that says "I hate people who refuse to listen to younger bands because they're too young", plus some things about how they're actually talented and stuff.

    So I thought of myself, who was doing exactly the same thing. I know all the names of SHINee and F.T Island members (I have no idea how I know also), but the most I did was watch 3 of SHINee's MVs and like, 2 performances? They can sing and dance, alright. But the songs that I listened to (the ones that are made into MVs) aren't really my cup of tea, so that's it. (Their debut song is pretty catchy though.) Only 2 of the members are older than me (Taemin was born in '93 o.0), and one of the 2 that caught my eye is younger than me, so I was kinda relieved that I'm not really into their music xP.

    I never listened to any of F.T Island's songs, because: 1. two of the members are younger than me, the youngest being born in December '92; 2. they're a band, not a boyband, and their genre is rock, which at least 80% guarantees that I'll like their music; 3. I've seen them a lot in magazines, and I'm convinced that they're the prettiest band (not just 1/2 member, but the band as a whole) I've seen so far (and that's saying a lot, since they're from South Korea -.-). But well, since at least I gave SHINee a chance, I thought I should give them a listen as well. And as expected, I do like their stuff. It's rock, and Hongki's (the lead singer) voice sounds a little like Yesung's, so seriously, what do you expect? So far I've watched a couple of LIVE performances too, and Hongki sings really well LIVE. (He looks so much like Kang In, wth. With a voice a teeny bit like Yesung's. So.. go figure xP.) The instruments aren't plugged in during those music shows, though, so I'll have to watch their concert/other clips to find out whether they play well together LIVE, but I'm quite sure they do. (EDIT: I saw one performance where they were playing LIVE! They're good ^^.) I have only listened to a few of their songs too, but I will listen to the rest sometime :).

    I think after Big Bang, I've proven that I can like a band only for their music even though the reason why that's true should be because I was too busy with other fandoms to watch any of their non-music-related videos xP. So let's hope that I won't start pedo-ing over Jaejin and Minhwan soon ^^. (That's just an expression, understand xP.)


    Today's song of the day: Tim - At the End of the World. I love his voice, this song, and how he sings this song with so much emotion ♥. You know, when I first put his whole discography into my iPod, I thought that as usual there'd be quite a few songs I can delete from each album, but after I went through them, I could only delete at most 3 from each. My iPod is so out of space now ;__;. But it shows how good his releases are, really :).

    Zettai Kareshi (Absolute Boyfriend)












    I wasn't planning to watch this drama, at first. Something happened, two days ago, and I just did, out of impulse. But that's not important, ne ^^?

    I read the manga a long time ago (because the mangaka is the author of Imadoki, which is one of my favourites), and as expected, the story in the drama is changed quite a lot. The changes are good, though. The drama is better than the manga, in fact; it's more mature in terms of the emotions :).

    Basically this drama is about Riko, an innocent, serious girl who has been rejected by guys practically all her life. She's working in Asamoto, a confectioner, as a temp worker and her dream is to become a Patisserie. One day she was approached by a guy, Namikiri, who claimed that he could change her life. And so she filled in her choices for an ideal boyfriend, thinking that it was for a matchmaking session. Then Night, a robot, was sent to her, having all her choices programmed within him. Soshi is Riko's boss; they worked together and along the way he developed feelings for her.

    Riiko reminds me of Makino in HYD a lot, especially the way she smiles widely after eating something delicious. She has good personality and all, but in the first few episodes she pissed me off 'cos she was so mean towards Night, even though he was being so nice towards her. She liked Soshi then, and they're quite cute together. It's so sad how when she started liking Night, his mechanism couldn't take the emotions he was feeling. But when she finally loved him, they're really sweet together ^^. (I'm a NightxRiko -shipper, haha!) Here's a NightxRiko fanvid.





















    Night really behaves like a robot sometimes, especially his expressions and the way he blinks his eyes slowly when he's confused. He's programmed to be Riko's ideal boyfriend, so it's natural that he treats her well. He's always there. It was scary when he started feeling what he wasn't supposed to (being a robot) and started doing things he wasn't programmed to, though. But he did, which makes him likable and relateable, but at the same time, it's scary. In the later episodes he became more of a human than a robot. His love for Riko was programmed in him, but that doesn't make it fake; it's probably more real than some people's feelings. He's definitely an ideal boyfriend :).

    Soshi's actor is Nanba-senpai from Hana Kimi, haha xD. (Mizushima Hiro!) Soshi is nice (and cute xP). He was a playboy at first, but after he realised his feelings for Riko, he changed. He's kinda idealistic and carefree, but at least he works for his ideals. He's got a knack for flavours too, so he's not as useless as he may look, lol. Here's a good SoshixRiiko fanvid (using DBSK's Doushite..? haha xD).

    Namikiri was the one who made Night. Being the one who develop a lover robot, naturally he's a romantist. I really like him; he's funny xD. And he's got heart, man!

    This drama is really funny; there are a lot of parts where I burst out laughing because of the baka things Night does. Some parts are touching, and others are scary. The lead girl is cute, and the lead guys are good-looking. (Night is hot :D.) Everyone acted their roles well ^^. The theme song is very nice too! The last episode is really SAD; I cried a bit a few times, lol. The ending is bittersweet, just like the manga's. It's good that they kept it that way, though. I don't know if Soshi got together with Riko in the end (since Night died), but I'll just assume so.

    It's a really good drama :).


    EDIT: I just watched the SP! I teared a little when Night asked Namikiri-san to shut him down; again when Riko and him were saying farewell; finally cried when Riko ran to Night and kissed him but he turned her around and pushed her forward, asking her to move on. It's so touching :'). And of course, Soshi and Riko got together ^^.

    Shinhwa's Lee Minwoo has finally admitted to the rumours that he is in a relationship with celebrity Amy.


















    On 18th Dec, at Tokyo's JCB Hall, Lee Minwoo held his M RIZING concert and at a post-concert conference he commented for the first time on his relationship with Amy.

    Admitting to the relationship, he said, "I make music and perform on stage for the fans, but on the other hand, Amy is the harbour I can dock and rest at."


















    He showed his love and affection for Amy when he added, "Love is not something to fight for, but rather to protect. If I can protect (Amy) that would be really great. I have the ability to make my relationship better."

    "After the news broke out, many fans left encouraging messages for me, I'm really grateful for that. Lee Minwoo said that he will work hard for the fans, I hope everyone will trust me."

    After both appeared on KBS2's Kkokko Tour, the onscreen couple began to develop a real-life romantic relationship.

    Finally he comes out to clear things up. I'm happy for them, I hope they'll be happy together for a long long time. As long as Minwoo's happy :).

    Minwoo looks gorgeous in that picture, by the way. Amy's cute ^^.

    Yunjae will be my downfall. Seriously.



    I haven't even been watching their stuff but I was kinda bored so I went to the LJ, and this video was posted, and I watched it. You know Heavenswine makes the best Yunjae videos, so if I say that this video (MKMF fancam compilation) is filled with proof of how close they're, it's an understatement. Whisperings, changing seats to sit next to each other, whatever. Hugging after winning the award, old stuff. (They're still as close, eh ^^?)

    Around 3 minutes into the video, some captions appear, depicting that they were feeling cold, so Yunho asked Jaejoong to hold his hand. It's just captions, but the gestures and everything seem appropriate. And you can see Jaejoong's expression after that at 3:14.

    And he had that expression again, after they won an award and Yunho hugged him and he closed his eyes and after Yunho let go he looked down for a second and smiled like that (6:45). It's almost a girly reaction, I'd say, and it doesn't help that he's naturally pretty.

    You know, it was his that^ expression that appears often in Yunjae videos, and that was also the thing that made me almost actually believe that Yunjae is real. Even now when I watched this video at those parts I had to cover my mouth 'cos I almost burst out laughing. Someone slap me, please; I can't stop grinning like a fool.

    Seriously, Jaejoong, if you guys aren't together, please please stop having that expression on your face. Or at least show it when you're with the other members too, not just Yunho. It's misleading! If you guys are together and you don't want others to know, then control your expressions, damn it. Otherwise you might as well come out of the closet -.-".

    My favourite pairing is HOSU, by far. (♥♥♥) But Yunjae is like my adrenaline shot, however weird that may sound. They used to be my daily dose way back then, after all.

    WGM ep 38.

    Hwanyobi parts made me laugh a lot, a lot. After the gorgeous wedding photoshoot they had in the previous episode (where the last shot Hwayobi had to bite off some fruit that Hwanhee was biting sdkgkskDAMNthatwasHOT), now they had to come up with a couple song. It was so LOL! They sang really well and everything, but the "Dog Poopie" seriously made everything funny xD. I think they're becoming more alike ^^.

    Joongbo couple had their farewell =(. Anyone who has been watching them on the show will say that they have developed affections for each other. I didn't expect to feel so sad, but I did; some of the things Hyunjoong said really got to me. They're really compatible with each other, but I think the possibility of them getting together is very small ;__;. Goodbye, Lettuce Couple!

    Kang In and Lee Yoon Ji
    are replacing Joongbo. So far the reaction from E.L.F has been good, I think. Hope it'll stay that way ^^.

    But seriously, end this programme already. Stop messing with people's hearts, damn it.

    Tim singing Thank You for Saving My Life.



    I'm no Christian. I used to want to be a Catholic, but sometime in my process of growing up I realised that I actually didn't really believe in God. I read the Bible as stories, not real accounts of past events. Sometimes I prayed, but not because I believed, but because I found comfort in the idea of someone greater, someone out there looking out for me. Therefore I decided to call myself a free thinker, until now. If anyone asks me to go to church, I'll smile and politely refuse, but inside I'm laughing 'cos I know that I can't bring myself to believe, which defeats the purpose of going to church in the first place.

    But when I see people who are devoted to their faith and believe without questioning, I don't have any negative feelings towards them. It's actually a weird feeling, and I don't know what it is. If I see someone whose life was changed for the better after he/she found God, I'll say, "Good for you." In fact, I have quite a couple of pictures of Yunho praying; before a performance, before the recipient of an award was announced, etc. There was one video clip of DBSK eating some ramen (I think) for a Japanese show (it was during Summer Dream promotion period), and before they started eating Yunho sorta leaned forward, caught Junsu's eye, and both of them bowed their heads for a second before eating. I replayed that scene a few times, haha. And there's that clip of Junsu recounting how he once questioned God's existence, which never fails to bring a smile on my face.

    And now there's Tim. I've been listening to his songs, from the earliest first. I tried to find videos of him singing his songs or his MVs, and discovered that there are so little of them on Youtube. But then I stumbled upon that^ video of him singing Thank You for Saving My Life, which is a Christian song (not his song, though). He has a Christian song in his 2nd, 3rd and 4th album too. (His albums are actually really good; I can't believe I never listened to them until now.) I think it's pretty apparent how he never tries to hide his faith. Somehow it gives me a weird feeling.

    I.. want to believe. But I can't.

    DBSK - Bolero

    EDIT: This song sounds better after each listen, guh. I'm tempted to write about how amazing that high note Yoochun hits is, how gorgeous the whole bridge is, etc, etc. But I'll refrain myself from doing so, haha. DBSK is freakin' amazing :D.

    Son Ho Young, Tim, Jang Geun Suk - We Can Make It



    I found it interesting that the three of them are singing this one song together, since Tim and Geun Suk already made a cameo in Ho Young's I Know MV. (Are they friends?) (They're under the same company ^^.) It's a good song. Geun Suk did really really well, I thought, considering how he's singing with two veteran singers, when he only has two songs of him own ^^. His voice is deeper than the others two's, and he sounds good. (He's so cute in the MV too :D.) I like Ho Young's voice, and Tim's voice is always very very lovely. All of them did great, but I love Tim's parts the best (I repeated his parts a couple lot of times, lol, especially the my friee~nd part in the second chorus); he sang them so smoothly *___*. The part (after 3:45) where Tim and Ho Young looked at each other while singing and smiled, and then Ho Young raised his clenched fists and tilted his head during the my~ part, is so so cute, guh xDD.

    Which reminds me.. I don't have any other song of Tim other than 사랑합니다 =/. How can this be happening?!

    A few months back I listened to Ho Young's I Know from his 2nd album. It's a nice, catchy song and like I said, I like his voice! I actually saw him in one of Xman episodes, and I knew that he's from g.o.d, but unfortunately I know nothing else about him xP. I haven't listened to his album yet too; only I Know and 바래요, a beautiful duet of Tim and him, also from his 2nd album. I plan to listen to it one day xP. I checked out a few of his earlier works too, and I'm liking what I'm hearing =].

    For now, here's Ho Young's I Know MV. Did I mention that he's actually pretty hot xP? (I didn't know he was tall though; maybe because in that Xman episode he appeared with another g.o.d member who is even taller.) Geun Suk and Tim only appeared for a few seconds, but both of them looked good too ^^.

    At first the song sounds familiar, not in a good way. But further into the song, something about it caught me; I'm not sure what it was. Then I listened to it again, this time looking at the lyrics and MV. 阿信 is a genius with lyrics, as always ♥. (I just found out that he wrote the lyrics of every song in their newest album and the previous one too. I can't be bothered to find out if he wrote all the lyrics in their songs, but heck, he's awesome ^^.) The melody too, of course. And the MV.. I like it a lot, a lot. I've grown to love the song. Even now, I'm listening to it for the nth time. Looks like I have another album to listen to :).

    1 picture of Dongwan in the army.

















    They're wearing orange; how appropriate lol xD. I read that Dongwan literally made an army of fanboys there because of his bright personality. It's kinda ironic that before he enlisted he was worried about his "hyper personality". His worries were uncalled for, after all ^^. Dongwannie hwaiting! ♥


    EDIT: Shinhwa won a Bonsang at the Golden Disk Awards. It was the last Bonsang to be announced; I am proud :). They did it without any promotion at all, and they totally deserved it as the album is great. Love how Shinhwa Changjo was shouting, "Shinhwa jjang!" before it was announced; how Destiny of Love was played as they walked up to receive the award; how Minwoo thanked Shinhwa Changjo first; how Junjin said that they will have their 15th, 20th anniversary; how Hyesung only said, "Thank you very much" at the end (dork xD). They were being their dorky selves at the behind-the-scenes, with Minsyung fighting over the trophy xP. I'm missing them already =(. It's a pity Hyesung didn't win a Bonsang too, since he was nominated too and his album is awesome as well. But most importantly, Shinhwa won. Congrats, guys :D!

    DBSK won their well-deserved Daesang (and some other awards) too ^^.

    Hana Yori Dango Final.

    The movie was disappointing, for the most parts. The plot is ridiculous and a lot of parts are boring and draggy, not to mention cheesy. Makino was being so fickle about her relationship with Domyouji, which made me quite irritated.

    But the last wedding part was nice, I thought. Makino looked very pretty in her dress and Domyouji was dashing in his suit. Loved how they looked so happy together; I'm hoping they're really together in real life xD. Rui as the priest was kinda EHH, though xP.

    I liked how they gave a conclusion to the characters' individual stories. (I'm gonna assume that Nishikado ended up with Yuki, 'cos I quite like them together ^^.) But Rui's was still left hanging and most of the time he was just there, standing/sitting around looking bored/thoughtful/depressed. What a waste of Oguri Shun -.-. And they could have at least given Rui a proper ending! Unless they're thinking of producing a Rui spin-off xP?

    Conclusion: the drama is so much better xD.

    haishh.

    I'm supposed to be studying, you know? Or at least organising my very messy files, or practicing my guitar, or exercising, or at the very least, reading the books that I borrowed. But here I am, re-watching Hana Yori Dango. (I skip some parts here and there.) From the first episode of the first season I was already going ga-ga over Rui, hahaha. Which reminds me why I had saved tons of avatars of him way back then. (Most of which I've already deleted as I found that most of the effects aren't really nice; I saved them just because of him, haha xP.)

    I read about 60 chapters of the manga, and found out that Meteor Garden actually followed the manga very closely, whereas HYD didn't. I even went to re-watch some bits of Meteor Garden ><. I liked Hua Ze Lei in Meteor Garden and Rui in HYD, lol xP. They're basically the same characters, but because MG followed the manga more closely, Hua Ze Lei was not only cold; he was almost mean at times. Shun's Rui is slightly different; he was just cold and aloof. So basically, this post has no point at all. I'm just spazzing over Rui, lols. He's just so totally nice and he's always there to protect, encourage and support Makino. (It should be Ma~kino haha xDD.) He believes in her, understands her, always considering her feelings and looking out for her, putting her first. He knows when she's in pain, he knows her pain, he feels her pain. I think it was apparent how he changed from the cold, uncaring Rui he was (towards anyone/anything that didn't matter to him) to the warm and caring Hanazawa Rui after meeting Makino. It's sad that he never got the girl he loved, though. From the very beginning, he had no chance at all =(. But even after all he's given to her, he doesn't expect her to nurse his pain.

    I like Tsukasa a lot too; even though he's a childish, self-centered, arrogant, violent baka, he's actually kinda innocent and simple-minded that he seems silly at times, and also kind, even though he doesn't seem so. And his love to Makino is unquestionable. (I have to take my hats off to Matsumoto Jun, who did a splendid job acting as Tsukasa. Shun too, of course ^^!)

    I'm a firm Tsukasa/Makino-shipper, but I'm a Rui-fangirl at heart, through and through. RUI ♥______♥.

    No, that^ was too calm, too rational, way off from my state of mind right now.

    Resolution!

    From now on, I'm not gonna surf Soompi, Pretty Boys Power, or any other fandom sites. I'll only listen to new albums and songs, but not keep up with their appearances on shows and performances.

    Shinhwa, see you in 4/5 years. In the meantime, take care of yourselves in the army, Eric and Dongwan. The rest of the members (other than Hyesung), do your best for now and go for army when you need to. Don't worry guys, we'll all be waiting ♥.

    DBSK is as busy as always. One of the new songs in the repackaged version of Mirotic, Don't Cry My Lover, is composed by Jaejoong and it's seriously really nice ^^. The most recent videos of theirs (the HAHAHA song; one with the whole group and 2 with 2U only) will show you the real dork-face leader, lol xD. I think DBSK can do no wrong, so I'm not even worried whether they'll do well, haha. Just don't overwork yourselves please, guys!

    SS501 is doing really well. SS301's mini album is nice and they're totally owning their performances. I'm very proud of them :). Hyunjoong and Jungmin are busy with acting and musical respectively. I'm looking forward to hearing SS501's new album as a whole next year ^^.

    The only album/movie I will buy next year will be Jay's.

    Can I do it? xD

    Thailand OCIP '08 - EMBRACE.

    WARNING: This is going to be long and wordy, since the stupid me didn't bring my camera there.

    Some of the Thai names may be wrong, since I only go by the pronounciation.

    1. I went on this trip doubtful, dreadful. I doubted my ability to teach and I doubted whether I'd be able to connect with the kids. I dreaded how I wasn't in the least bit close with my team members (except for Chee Ying and a few okay others) and I dreaded the many uncertainties that come with the trip. Because of these, I actually said that I wouldn't mind if my worried parents were to tell the school that they wouldn't allow me to go on the trip. Which would have been the biggest mistake of my life.

    2. The first thing I noticed about Thailand was the people -- how random strangers would say, "Sawadee-ka" to me and how friendly everyone seems. The school really treated us like kings, to say the least. They had everything prepared for us (food, accomodation), and did everything they could to keep us comfortable. Oh and another thing: the girls all have the same short hairstyle, as it's one of the school rules xP.

    3. The food was good! I would have preferred less meat, though, since there was pork/chicken on every meal, lol xP. Surprisingly I had only one meal with tom yum, which is surprising since I was frightfully expecting tom yum every day, haha. We tried papaya salad on our way back on Sunday, which was sooo spicy. Everything was so cheap, I wished we had more chances to go shopping. But if we had, we would have even less time with the kids, so it's okay ^^.

    4. The weather was cold in the mornings and nights, but hot in the afternoons. (Our OCIP jacket is super comfy!) The village is quiet and peaceful, with trees all around, kids walking around (some of the students live in houses in the school, since their homes are far away), bugs flying around and cats and dogs everwhere. The animals bothered me a little, but after some time, I got used to them. My bunk was the best among the 4 bunks (as repeatedly said by the guys, haha) and I slept well every night.

    5. Me and Chee Ying were kinda stressed out because we'd have to play guitar for the Christmas Carolling, so we practiced on Wednesday and Thursday nights. It was actually quite enjoyable, as the more I practiced, the more confident I was. Wenhang and Onzen were really patient with us too :).

    6. My class was M6/2, which has 31 students (even though I never did see a full attendance) with age ranging from 17-20. It was quite weird to be teaching a group of students who are older than me, but somehow they didn't feel older than me. Maybe it's because most of them (except a few of the guys) are shorter than me, or maybe because the way they behave was still quite childish in a way. Generally the girls are studious and are faster in receiving the lessons (Fam's English is better than the rest, and she helped a lot by explaining to the rest in Thai) while the guys are more playful and a lot of times they didn't even pay attention in class (except for Cha, who did pay attention). I was initially shocked at some of the girls who wore lipstick (or was it coloured lip balm?), and there was this girl, Gan, who reminds me of the ah-lians in Singapore. The guys are jokers and friendly, even though they did annoy me a little when they didn't pay attention or slept in class. I remember that Phet was the first person to make me feel welcome in the class, since he was smiling and stuff ^^.

    7. For teaching, Ching Wan (co-form teacher for my class) was in-charge of Maths and Science, while I was in-charge of English (and games xP). It was quite difficult, especially for Maths and Science, since the standard of English of my class was lower than expected. The terms took a lot of time to explain, and a few times I complained to myself how the standard of M6/2 is so much lower than M6/1 (all the /1s are the best classes). English lessons are easier and less dry, in my opinion, since the methods of teaching varied and there was no technical terms. (Dictionary rocks too, by the way xD.) As difficult as it was, the teaching was a good experience. I remember going around the class asking whether they understood what Ching Wan was teaching during his lessons but almost all were catching no ball, so I went one-on-one with some of them, and even then it took quite a long time of repeated explaining to get the point across. I think he did a good job and was well-prepared for his lessons. In comparison, I was going with my gut feeling and didn't really plan beforehand. I was also quite depressed when the students seemed very bored. For these, I'm really sorry to Ching Wan. But ultimately, I think we make good teaching partners :).

    8. During teaching, I was surprised at myself. Anyone who knows me would say that I'm quiet, introverted, stiff. I know this too myself, which was why I was worried whether we would be able to interact well with the class (since Ching Wan also seems to be that type). But very surprisingly, as I was conducting the games and explaining some of the English words, I didn't care about how the kids would think of me, I didn't care about my image, and just acted out anything I could think of. I might have looked like a fool, but I don't care xP.

    9. At night after dinner, we had night tuition (for those kids who stay in school). We were split into 2 groups: one to the guys and the other to the girls. I was one of the group assigned to the guys. Me and Chee Ying ended up with this group of 5 M2 and M3 guys (age 14-15), and we taught them English. I think night tuition was much easier than teaching in class, since the group was smaller. It was really enjoyable and I looked forward to it every day, to the extent that I almost didn't want to go to the night market on Friday as we would then miss the night tuition. And the kids are really cute! I can only remember two of their names (No and Chim), but all of them are really cute, especially No xD. On the second night on Thursday, I taught them to sing Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, since they wanted to sing instead of study. I was again surprised at how I even dared to sing in front of them, haha.

    10. On Thursday, we were told that there was going to be no homestay, since the situation in Thailand had worsened and it was best to stay as a group. We might have to cut the trip and come back on the 6th. There were changes to the programme, and there were things we need to prepare.

    11. On Friday night after the night market, we were told that the 2-day Science camp would be cut to one day on Saturday, and then the news broke that the situation in Bangkok had again worsened and that the Singapore government would arrange a flight out of Thailand as soon as possible for Singaporeans still in the country. We would be leaving on Sunday.

    Initially I was only shocked. Then I remembered Kin, who asked me to play volleyball after class earlier in the afternoon, and I told her that I couldn't as we would be going to the night market and that there were a lot of things I needed to do to prepare for the Science camp. I remembered Oh, who asked me to take a picture with him the next day, after which one of the girls told him that there was no class on Saturday and then he said, "Monday", which I agreed to. I remembered Wan, who told me happily that I would be staying at her house for the homestay, to which I regretfully told her that there would be no homestay due to the turmoil, and I saw how the smile on her face faded away. I remembered how I was saddened and disheartened at how for whatever reason only half of my class turned up that morning, and how bad I felt of myself when after lunch when more of them came, they all seemed so bored during the lessons. I remembered how throughout the day I was continuously thinking of how to make the lessons more interesting, so that my students could benefit more from them. I was thinking even as I was bathing before the briefing, during which I decided that I should give them a test on Monday.

    Then my team members started crying, guys and girls alike. Lionel (our school counsellor, and one of the three teachers who went with us) told us to say our feelings at that moment, and as one by one they recounted, crying, how they had made promises with their classes, what they wanted to do on Monday. Xian Yao mentioned that he would like to go there again next year. I want to, myself. But then I thought about how my class won't be there anymore (since they are graduating), and felt even sadder. As they were talking, I recalled the above things and I cried too. Very badly, in fact, that during my turn I was trying very hard to keep my voice stable, while choking on my tears. I was, for the third time, surpised at how sad I was feeling, since I'm a well-known rock. Even during the toilet break, when I took a short walk, I burst out crying, and had to look up and pretended that I was looking at the beautiful stars.

    That night all of us slept late, writing letters for our classes and preparing the gifts we brought for them. I was that close to memorizing all of my students' names, but since I had forgotten some of their names, I only wrote one letter to the whole class. I didn't purposely lower the standard of English as I wanted to express myself the best way I could.

    12. Wenhang, who was one of the ICs, fell sick on that day and even had to stay in the hospital that night. I was kinda shocked as in the morning she was still her cheery self, but fortunately, she pulled through.

    13. The morning on the next day, I think some of the kids already knew about us leaving, and after breakfast when some of my team members went to talk to their students, they were all crying. I was walking around the area, saying, "Sawadee-ka!" brightly to every person I saw, attempting to not spend the day being depressed. Then I saw two of my class' girls at their breakfast area, went over, and told them that we would be leaving on Sunday. Even when I was saying it I could feel my eyes welling up, so after I finished my sentence, I smiled, said goodbye, and left that area, muttering under my breath that I should stay away from that place, the "source of tears".

    14. The Science Camp on Saturday was really tiring, since we, the "high" group facilitators, all shouted at the top of our lungs. In the morning, the Director of the school explained to the students about us leaving on Sunday, so some of them were crying. Only 2 of my students went for the Science Camp (only class leaders and the chosen ones got to go) and both of them weren't in my group, so I guess that made it much easier for me. All of us controlled our emotions and put up a really good show. We gave it our all, right to the end. Good job to the Programme Team, we finally made it :)! I really admire Wee Kiat, who shouted himself hoarse, ran and jumped around as the MC of the day. He did a truly tremendous job, not once letting the mood go down *clapclap*. He cried during the closing ceremony, but apparently he has the type of face which doesn't show even after he cries. Lucky him.

    15. After the Science Camp, me and Ching Wan gave our gift to La and Phet (he wasn't there for the Science Camp, I'll talk about it later). I ran to the bunk to take it, but I was really tired and walked back to the hall, but on the way Phet came on his motorcycle to fetch me :D. It's been really long since I last rode on a motorcycle (back in Indo....), so even though it was just a few seconds, it felt really good :).

    16. That night, we had a last Thanksgiving dinner. Phet and a few other boys were there making the bamboo rice, which is very fragrant. I brought two short ones home xD. Then we had a karaoke session, which was mostly the Thai guys singing Thai songs we didn't understand and the rest of us jumping/dancing along to them while the Thai kids sang and danced. I think I was never that high before, other than during Linkin Park's and Jay's concerts, haha. I jumped/swayed/danced/cheered along like a crazy woman and I must have looked like a fool, but who cares? After a number of songs I was really tired, but I continued jumping along, haha. During one of the slower Thai songs, we were swaying along with our hands on each others' shoulders, and even though I didn't understand a word, I cried. It wasn't that bad, though, as I stopped myself after a few seconds, and continued partying. We really enjoyed ourselves :).

    At 9 pm, Lionel stopped the party, which was fortunate as if he hadn't, we could have gone on until the next morning. Everyone wanted to stay, no one wanted to say goodbye.

    17. The next morning, there was a crowd of Thai kids near our breakfast area, and after breakfast, we all went to see our students, to say our last goodbyes and took pictures with the kids. I took pictures with some of them in some of the Thai kids' handphones and cameras; please keep that piece of memory for me :). I was actually skipping around, singing softly under my breath. I felt like dancing Boriquito, haha xD. Anyone who saw me would think that I was really high. Which I was ^^.

    A few of my class girls were there; we took pictures and I gave my phone number to one of them. I was actually feeling grateful that none of them were crying, haha. But right before we left, when I was sitting in the van, Wan and Leng ran to the window, Leng crying, and for a few moments I could still smile at them and waved goodbye. But then I started to tear and so I looked away, blinked away my tears, smiled and continued waving goodbye to them. I eventually gave my name tag to Leng. As the van moved away from the school, I really cried. But I managed to stop after a few minutes.

    18. I really enjoyed this trip. I should have brought my camera, but I'd like to think that I won't forget this experience that soon. I love my class, all of them, even Oh, Eh, and their gang of guys, who are nice towards me but don't listen in class. I love my cute night tuition kids. I love my OCIP team. They're all very cool people :).

    19. I don't have any regret. Even though 5 days were really too short and I would have liked to stay longer, at least until the 9th as planned, and there were so much more I could have done, I did my best and gave it my all. I learnt a lot from this experience, and discovered more about myself. I used to keep a distance between myself and other people, since I was afraid of my feelings not reciprocated, afraid of getting hurt. But I realised that goodbyes are part of life, and getting hurt in the process after giving out your love can actually feel good. At least, during this trip I didn't hold back, I was being myself. So thank you, Sob Moei kids, not just for the many gifts and hospitality, but for allowing me to grow as a person. I'm missing them already, haha.

    20. I hope I can go back there next year after the "A"s, maybe with the rest of the team? ^^

    I'm flying off to Thailand for OCIP tomorrow morning, and will be back on 9 December. I'm pretty excited about it, except that mp3 players aren't allowed and I have to say goodbye to my iPod for 15 days T___T.

    DBSK 081115 Music Core - Wrong Number



    One of the many of DBSK's Wrong Number LIVE performances. I think I don't say this enough: vocally, DBSK is the Korean group that does the best LIVEs, whether it's dance/ballad songs. They never fail to impress :).

    But actually, the main point of this post is...


    Junsu and a girl singing Goose's Dream at Star King. Their voices are so awesome at so many levels *spazzes*. That girl has a nice voice, but sometimes she kinda just went blasting off. She's really good for a 14-year-old, though ^^. JUNSU ARGHHHHH ♥♥♥♥♥. I've always loved how much control he has over his voice, but I don't think I've mentioned how much I love it when he sings in lower pitch *___*. I love the song too! And it reminds me of the last episode of Beethoven Virus xP.


    EDIT: Just watched some quite recent Hosu clips. If I love Hosu anymore than I already do, I think I'd die xDDD.
